"Don't try to bullsh!t me either because I know what I saw." Dad said firmly.
"Wh-what did you see?" I asked timidly, my whole body tense. He looked at me and his eyes softened instantly.
"I saw the terror in your eyes and the reactions of those two. That's what I saw, now what do I not know?" He said. My heart started to race and it felt like ice was running through my veins instead of blood. I looked over at Lincoln, I couldn't decipher what his eyes were trying to tell me.
"It's your call Justine." Lincoln said softly, reaching over and taking my hand in his. I turned back to dad, who looked worried. I stood up, pulling Lincoln along with me, not quite ready to let go of his hand.
"He attacked me at the party I went to before school started." I said looking away from him.
"What do you mean attacked?" Dad asked with a tight voice. I took a deep breath, tears welling up in my eyes, a large lump in my throat. I looked back at Lincoln.
"Do you want me to tell him?" Lincoln asked softly, his eyes full of concern. I couldn't speak, so I just nodded and looked down at my hands, holding Lincoln's hand tightly in mine. "He tried to rape her. If I didn't hear her screaming from the hall, he would have-" He took a shaky breath and ran his free hand through his hair. "When I went into the room, he had her trapped on the bed. She was screaming and crying. And- I just lost it." He said his jaw tensed and his hand tightened on mine.
"Why didn't you tell me?" My dad asked, his voice breaking.
"I thought you would send me back, because I was too much trouble."
"Sweetheart why would you think that! Of course I wouldn't send you back to that woman."
"I know that now, but when I first came here I was more terrified of being sent back. Besides Lincoln took care of it." I said glancing at over at Lincoln, who gave me a small smile.
"What do you mean he took care of it?" Dad asked looking between us.
"He Kicked the f*cking sh!t out of him, then made sure Kitten was never alone, that way he couldn't get to her again."
"I did say, I lost it." Lincoln said, I could hear the tension in his voice. I gripped his hand tighter.
"Was he walking when he left?" Dad asked.
"Barely" Lincoln replied.
"You should have seen the f*cker at school. He was covered in bruises." Peter said.
"See this is why I like him." Dad said to me, pointing to Lincoln. He took a deep breath before continuing. "We need to talk to the police about this."
"No, dad please, I just want to forget it ever happened. Besides nothing really happened." I pleaded.
"He tried to hurt you!" Dad's voice raising as he lost his temper.
"I can't prove it, Dad." I said raising my voice, meeting his eyes.
"Justine, he can't get away with this."
"Dad, please. Just let it go."
"I'm not going to just let it go Justine! I am not your mother, I'm not going to turn a blind eye when you get hurt!" He roared at me.
My entire body tensing up at the mention of my mom. Lincoln squeezed my hand as he looked over at Peter confused. Peter just shook his head. Letting go of Lincolns hand I walk over to my dad and take his hand in mine.
"Dad, I'm okay. Besides he won't even be here soon. He will be on the other side of the country. You aren't turning a blind eye, I am asking you to let it go. I was scared today, because I didn't expect him to be here, at my house. He can't hurt me." I say softly grasping his hand hoping he will listen to me.
