-Quebec City is the only walled city in North America.
-Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia were the first provinces of Canada in 1867.
-Manitoba and the Northwest Territories joined Canada in 1870, British Columbia joined a year later in 1871. Two years later in 1873, P.E.I. joined.
-1898, the Yukon Territory became part of Canada. 1905, Alberta and Saskatchewan joined. 1949, Newfoundland and Labrador joined in which the two provinces where made into one.
-1999 Nunavut was made into a territory, shrinking the size of the Northwest Territories. (I cannot remember if any ground was taken from the Yukon as well)
I apologize for cheating on this chapter by breaking up the order in which our provinces joined so I would have my five facts, but I felt with all of those dates in there it would be easier for you readers to follow along if I did.
