-Saskatchewan is the only province in the world in a complete rectangular shape.

-(if you're not technical) Canada has the longest coastline, which is our east coastline.

-St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador is considered to be one of the oldest English founded cities in Canada.

-Canadian Thanksgiving is every second Monday of October.

-Remembrance Day is November 11, it is a holiday. At 11:00, a special ceremony is held to honour all of the soldiers who died in WWI, WWII, and in any recent battles such as Afghanistan in their peace keeping missions. Everybody (or almost everybody) wears a poppy on their jacket, a symbol of remembrance that originated from all the soldiers buried in flounder's field where poppies grow. You can find Flanders Field poems and songs that also honour all of those who have given their lives in service to our country. There is a moment of silence that is held during the ceremony so we can all reflect back and give personal thanks to the brave women and men who have died. Also there is a song called the Last Post which is traditionally a bugle/horn song but is now more commonly played on a trumpet.
