-The name Ontario comes from an Iroquois word meaning "beautiful water" or "big body of water"

-Manitoulin Island in Georgian Bay is the world's largest freshwater island, it covers about 2,766 square kilometres  which is 1,068 square miles

-Ontario has two time zones, the boundary line between the Central Time Zone and the Eastern Time Zone

-B.C. was made a province of Canada before the prairies because Britain was scared the United States would try and claim it since they had bought Alaska.

-(to clear things up) Although Canada is considered a constitutional monarchy, the queen has no input on our decisions, it more out of respect for our origins and the fact that we separated on friendly terms, do we let the queen know what is going on and keep that term for our government and have the queen on our 20 dollar bills. (But I guess at some point it will be the king).
