Book II Chapter 10

Busy ako sa pag guguni-guni habang nag lalakad sa dalampasigan ng tumunog ang cellphone ko.

"This is Romano." I answered firmly.

"You did what?!" I was not expectigng the news and I don't appreciate the call nor the caller.

Luis is a man of poor choices. Not a bad person, not really. Otherwise I wouldn't have know the kids. My local secretary called to notify me that he is in prison.

I automatically went back to the hospital. I have to get back home. Immediately.

In the hospital I talked to the head nurse that I will sign a waiver that incase something happens the hospital is not liable. I understand business, so I can't argue that much. Besides I have no time for that.

I'm not particularly concern about Luis' wellbeing. But I care about the kids Monty and Chit. They're my family now, with or without Corrine I will raise them from now on.

Sabi ni Mommy. Luckily my parents brought the kids to our house.Kasalukuyang may pasok ang dalawa, so we took the opportunity to talk.

"Tama, mamahaling klase ang computers ng CGC. Bakit hindi manlang niya naisip na high end din ang CCTVs?"

Napailing nalang ako sa lakas ng loob ni Luis at sa katangahan niya.

"I want to apply for their adoption Mom." I seriously considered this matter. I wanted to be their father and I guess the feeling is mutual. Not that I wanted to replace Luis. I just wanted the best for them.

"I know you do. That's why your father and I inquired from DSWD."

She said that I will need to undergo counseling, that I am willing to undergo. I can do what is required, in fact I will do whatever it takes.

So I did not waste anymore time. Pumunta ako sa tanggapan ng DSWD at ipinaalam ang gusto kong mangyari. I know that tagalog above sucks, blame the writer she has poor tagalog skills.

While I was in the office. Akala ko dahil may kakayahan kami sa pag palaki at mag alaga ng bata, it would be easy. Akala ko it's a one day process. Pero damn it! binasahan ako ng adoption law. Procedures and requirements.

Dumugo ang utak ko instantly. Kesyo kailangan daw wala nang kamag anak, na willing kumupkop sa mga bata. Kailangan pa ng trial custody. Sangkatutak na counseling and other stuff.

But I am not to surrender. Like I said, I 'll do what it takes. Pumunta ako sa kulungan, where Luis is curently detained. I can actually call the Corbes to release him. But I'm not doing that. I can be selfish, besides he needs to learn.

"Hindi ako pumunta dito para ilabas ka Luis."

I get straight to the point. Men do this all the time.

"Alam ko sir Romano. Nandito ka na para kunin na sa akin ang mga anak ko?"

I expect him to beg and get him out. Pero mas mapangahas ang tanong niya sa inaasahan ko.

"Tama, pwede kitang ilabas dito, sa isang condition."

Hindi na tumagal pa ng dalawangpung minuto ang naging usapan namin ni Luis. I went home, slightly disapointed pero, para din sa ikabubuti ng mga bata.

Nasa bahay na sila Monty at Chit ng dumating ako. Chit's eyes were so doed up when he saw me but Monty, he smiles widely and showing his appreciation but his eyes shows different meaning. He cares for his father.

"Dad! pinansin ako ng crush ko ngayong araw! grabe di ako maka-paniwala."

Non-stop na ang pag ku-kwento ni Chit.

"Bakit di mo kaagad ligawan? Baka maunahan ka."

I know he won't I'm just teasing him.

"Dad naman eh." Natawa kami ni Monty pareho.

"Buddy can you bring this to my room, then go play pokemon Go, I need to speak to your brother alone."
