Chapter 30

Okay so I'm going to be doing a lot of updating today and tomorrow and I probably won't do authors notes for a couple of chapters so here's chapter 30!!!

We arrived at the tree farm and hopped out Johnny and I always came here to get our tree. There was a good coating of snow still on the ground and it covered the trees like a blanket. I looked around trying to find a good tree. Johnny always let me pick the tree, cause I have a good eye. “Johnny I can’t see one.” I said and that was his cue to come over and hold me up on his shoulder. “Ready?” He asked placing his hands on my waist. “Yea, if you aren’t strong enough to lift me this year, someone else can.” I said referring to the fact that he just got out of the hospital. “I should be fine.” He said and picked me up and placed me on his left shoulder. I had my right hand on his head and he was holding my left hand for balance. I scanned the farm for the perfect tree and saw one on the other side. I felt my eyes light up and jumped off Johnny’s shoulder and raced over there. “And she’s found it.” Johnny said as they raced after me. We got to the tree and I walked around it. “This is perfect. No dead spots, perfect height, wide, good color, strong branches. This is our tree.” I said and faced the boys. “Alright Two-Bit and I will cut down the tree and then we can get out of here.” Johnny said. Ponyboy looked like he wanted to talk to me so I began to walk over to him, when I was hit with a snowball. I turned towards whoever threw it just to be hit with another in the face. I wiped it off my face to see Soda and Steve high five each other and smirk at me. Then I saw Dal throw a snowball and the snow went down my shirt. COLD SNOW DOWN MY FUCKING SHIRT! I was pissed. “Dallas!” I screamed at him. I saw the other two high five him and Pony blushed and looked away. I stomped behind a few bigger trees and pulled the snow out of my shirt. “Ya know, she’s going to murder you guys, right?” Johnny said to them. They just laughed, “We got her back from earlier. Now we’re even.” Steve said. “No you aren’t, Jennie always wins. She’ll get you guys back, trust me.” Johnny said and I saw through the branches he went back to cutting the tree. An idea formed in my head as I saw that the three idiots were standing under some branches and I could hop tree to tree to get above them. I smirked as I climbed the tree I was near and hopped two trees over and climbed a couple branches down so I was right above Dal. I jumped down and landed on him perfectly. Soda and Steve looked shocked as I shoved snow down the back of his shirt. I grabbed another handful of snow and pounced at Soda and shoved snow down his back also. Before I got up Steve looked back to see if he could save his best friend. “Run, Steve, run.” Soda shouted at him and that’s exactly what he did. I chased after him through the trees. “Get your ass back here, Randle!” I shouted, but he just ran faster. This went on for a little while and I got sick of just chasing him around. I needed to catch Steve but he was too fast for just me to catch him. I decided to get some help. I smirked and walked up to Ponyboy. I began to draw circles on his coat with my index finger and I felt him tense up. The others watched me.  “Ponyboy....” I said sweetly and looked into his eyes for a second and then back down to his coat. “Y-yes...” He stuttered. Ponyboy was nervous. “Can you help me catch Steve?” I asked and batted my eyelashes at him. He nodded and I smiled. I kissed his cheek and felt his face heat up. “Thank you.” I whispered in his ear and he shivered. I backed away from him and we began to chase Steve around. Pretty soon I was on one side of him and Pony was on the other. There was no getting away now. “No fair you put him under a spell.” Steve shouted at me and pointed to Ponyboy. We had him basically cornered. “No it's called flirting. Oh, wait; you don't know what that is since no girls ever flirt with you. OOOOO........” I said back to him. The rest of the gang was impressed with that burn too. I’ll have to say it was one of my best. I winked at Ponyboy and pointed over in his direction. “Oh my god, look at that!” I said and he completely fell for it. I lunged at him and tackled him to the ground and shoved as much snow as I could down his back. “Yes, I got you.” I said throwing my hands in the air and looking up to the sky in victory. Ponyboy chuckled and helped me stand up. He put his arm around my shoulder and we walked back to the other. “I told you.” Johnny said to Soda and Dal. “Damn Johnny you should have let her go to the rumble, them Socs would have never stood a chance.” Dal said rubbing his neck. I’m guessing I hurt it when I jumped on him. Serves him right. It then began to lightly snow. Sodapop and I looked at each other excitedly. “Snow!” We shouted. “I swear, you are both the biggest children I have ever seen.” Johnny said shaking his head. “So, I like being a child.” I said and he smiled at me, “I know that.” We all began to walk back to the truck with half the boys carrying the tree. While everyone was loading up the tree, Ponyboy was standing with me. “Hey Jennie, can I talk to you?” He asked and I nodded. He pulled me aside. “When I talked to Johnny yesterday, he said I could date you,” A smile spread onto his face and soon one on mine appeared, “So now we can be “official” I guess. So will you be my girl?” He asked and I saw so much hope in his eyes. I think he is still afraid I’m going to say no, even though I told him I loved him last night. “Of course, Pony.” I said and he gave me a hug. We pulled apart and he smiled at me. “I’ve always wanted to do this.” He said with a spark in his eye. “Wanted to do-“ I began to ask but Ponyboy began to lean forward. I leaned towards him also. Our lips met for a short kiss but it was filled with love. Pony reached his hand up and brushed his thumb across my cheek. We pulled away and he grabbed my hand and he led me to the truck. The gang looked at us and saw our hand intertwined and then they all smiled. We all got back in the truck and drove home to set up the tree.
