Chapter 59

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! I CAN BELEIVE I'VE WAITED SO LONG TO UPDATE THIS CHAPTER!!! UGH..... HALF YOU GUYS ARE PROBABLY MAD AT ME ABOUT THIS...... I'm really really really sorry!!! Right after i updated the last chapter my friend started bringing me to a youth group on Friday nights and church on Sundays and i have no time to work on it then and i've had so much homework lately and UGH.... Shitty excuses but whatever. @emilie0228 YOU ARE FINALLY INTRODUCED IN THIS CHAPTER!!!! SORRY I'VE KEPT YOU WAITNG SO LONG FOR THIS!!!! I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!!

The game so far was going really great. Everyone in our group almost took up a whole section of bleachers. I was next to Pony with Johnny on the other side of me, Adri was next to Soda, Blaze next to Dally, Ani next to Shaun, Red between Two-Bit and Steve. Will Rogers scored another point when their spiker spiked the ball over the net. Her teammates congratulated her before they served again. “Oh my God, she is good what’s her name?” I asked and pointed to her. “Who Emilie? Yea, she is, she’s the youngest on the team and the only Greaser, but apparently the Socs treat her like a sister.” Adri said and I looked up at her and nodded. “She seems like a cool chick.” I said and focused back on the game. Our team was serving for the winning point and the entire gym was silent. That Emilie girl was serving. She fixed the ball in her hand after wiping the sweat off it. She said the score before hitting it with her fist. It soared over the net and one of the back line players on the other team called for the ball so the others backed off. The girl went to take a step forward to hit the ball but she tripped and fell making the ball bounce off the floor. Will Rogers huddle on the court celebrating while everyone in the stands went wild. “Awesome we won!” I shouted while everyone was still cheering. Shaun jumped down onto the gym floor and came over to me as Johnny and Pony talked with the other guys. “Hey, Jennie, can I talk to you for a second?” He asked nervously rubbing the back of his neck.  “Sure,” I jumped down next to him and began to walk towards the corner with the water fountains alongside him. “What do you want to talk about?” I asked and looked at him. He stopped and faced me and took a deep breath before beginning to speak. “Well, um, this is really hard to say, but um, I uh… How do I say this?” I stopped him after that. “Just spit it out I’m not going to make fun of you or criticize you for whatever it is.” Shaun shrugged, “Yea, I know but it’s hard for me to say. It’s just…” He took a deep breath, “I think I like someone…” He trailed off and looked me in the eyes. I squealed, “Oh my god who? Do I know them? Have I met them before? Show me who it is.” Shaun stopped me for a second. “But, the person I like is a girl…” I just stopped for a second. “Wait, so you’re telling me that you’re a gay guy crushing on a girl.” I leaned against the wall as he nodded and let this sink in. A smile then appeared on my face. “That means you’re not gay after all, maybe you just thought that because maybe you hadn’t liked a girl yet.” I said and he breathed and then nodded and smiled and had a faraway look in his eyes thinking about her. “Awe…” I whispered looking at him, to me it was cute to watch him think about his first crush. “Okay, now you gotta tell me what her name is and all you know about her.” I said and he leaned against the wall again and looked down. “Well, all I need to say is her name because you already know her really well. It’s Adri…” He trailed off and smiled. I squealed and jumped up and down. “Oh my god really!? This is great! Don’t worry best friend, I’ve got you covered!” Shaun laughed as I ran off to where the girls were standing. “What’s got you so chipper right now?” Ani asked. “I’ve got some amazing news!” I said and draped my arm around Adri’s shoulder and looked at her. “Something tells me it involves me…” She said as she looked at me and pointed at me. “Yup, I think you got that right.” Blaze said and smiled. Adri rolled her eyes. “Awe, come on, it’s not that bad. Let’s go.” I said and pulled her along over to where Shaun was talking with Johnny and Soda. “Hey, Adri look who it is?” I asked as she noticed Shaun. “Oh no…” She said and tried to back out. “Oh yes!” I said and pushed her over towards them where Shaun caught her before she fell. I stood and crossed my arms, smiling in triumph. Pony came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. “Whatcha’ doin’?” He asked in my ear. I placed my hands on his. “I think I just played match maker.” I said and Pony laughed. “Come on I want to show you something.” He said and I turned to him. “If it’s outside I don’t want to go, it’s cold.” I said and placed my hands on his shoulders as his were placed on my waist. “Come on it’ll be fun.” He said and threw me over my shoulder. “Ponyboy! Put me down!” I said and pounded on his back. We passed the girls and I could hear them laughing from where I was. “No just trust me on this.” He said and ran through the halls. I sighed and crossed my arms. “Fine…” I said as he carried me through the school halls and out the front door of the school. There wasn’t a lot of snow on the ground here so when Pony placed me down he flopped onto the ground and stared up at me with a smirk. He folded his hands behind his head and crossed his ankles and I placed my hands on my hips and looked at him. “You are the cheesiest person I know, okay?” I said and sat down next to him. Pony laughed and pulled me down so I was lying next to him. We stared up at the stars and for the first time I noticed how well you could see them here. Neither of us was talking so I took the opportunity to think. I imagined how Adri and Shaun were doing and if they had told their feelings for each other yet. I wondered if Ani and Blaze had dropped enough hints to Dal and Soda where they would get to kiss them at midnight. I dreamed about my midnight kiss with Pony. I glanced over at him and saw his face concentrated as he looked at the stars up in the dark night sky. I watched him for a couple minutes before speaking. “Pony, what’s got you so quiet?” I asked. He looked at me then back to the sky, “I was trying to come up with a reason for each star as to why I love you but… I ran out of stars…” He pouted at the end and I laughed. “Come on, it’s getting cold out and we don’t want to miss midnight.” Pony said while standing up then he helped me up. I nodded in agreement as he held my hand as we walked back inside. We got back inside the gym and saw the girls and Johnny under the basketball hoop like before and the guys talking on the bleachers still. “I’ll be with the guys if you need me.” Pony said quickly before giving me a kiss on the cheek and jogging over to them. Johnny then quickly came running over with a huge smile on his face. “Jennie come meet Emilie, she’s amazing!” He said and dragged me behind him. “Woah, Johnny! Do you like her?” I asked with a smirk. He blushed and looked away from me, “A little…” I screaked and hopped up and down. “Oh my god! I get to play match maker again!” I said and Johnny just slapped his forehead. We approached the group and I noticed that Emilie was the volleyball player from earlier. She had bright green eyes, wavy light brown hair and had an athletic build. She had a bright smile on her face telling me she was outgoing and nice. “Hey, I’m Emilie but you can call me Em and I’m guessing you’re Jennie. The girls and your brother have told me a lot about you.” She said and I smiled. “Hopefully all good things.” I laughed. “Well….” Emilie said and smirked. She was giving me the fake illusion that they had said something bad about me but I knew she was just kidding around so we all laughed. We all got to talking and I learned that basically volleyball is Em’s life and just from the way she talks that she is hilarious. “Hey guys check it out, only two minutes until midnight. We should probably go find the guys.” I said and the other girls got the message to leave Johnny alone with Em. I found Pony pretty quickly and gathered around one of the small TV’s placed in the gym. “So who were you talking to before?” Pony asked. “The girls, Johnny, and Emilie. Johnny likes her already I think it’s adorable.” I said and looked over at him flirting with her. Pony chuckled, “Look, ten seconds to midnight.” He said and pointed at the clock. We counted down and when the clock hit zero we cheered before Pony pulled me in and gave me a passionate kiss on the lips. I looked around and saw everyone in the gang kissing one of the girls. Red was kissing Two-Bit, Blaze kissing Dal, Ani kissing Soda, Adri kissing Shaun, Steve was nowhere in sight and Johnny was kissing Emilie. Well that was fast. I thought when I saw those two kissing. Soon I focused back on Pony and thought nothing could have made this moment better….
