Chapter 15

KAYLE

Moments passed when a sudden thud was heard on the door of the cubicle I am in.

"Kayle! Are you there?! Open this!" Cal shouted as he tries to break it out.

I didn't respond. I held my mouth to stop my sobs.

I heard him punching the door. "Kayle! Please, please open up!" he pleaded.

I closed my eyes, my tears just kept coming out more and more.

Sobrang sakit. Kahit kailan, hindi ko naisip na mangyayari ang ganitong bagay sa buhay ko.

I cannot let Cal in. Only pity will wash over his face, I don't want him to see how weak I am. Maybe he is the reason of Crystal's grudge on me. But what's happening right now is already between me and her, Cal is out of it.

I stiffened when he kicked the door hard, it created a deafening sound. "Kayle! Damn it!" I heard him hissed. "Please open up," he said, his voice more gentle.

I curled myself into a ball and leaned my back on the wall, holding back my sobs.

Nararamdaman ko ang pamamaga ng mga mata ko. Kung iisipin, ilang minuto pa lang naman akong nandito, pero parang isang buong araw na iyak ang pamamaga ng mata ko.

It's how tears work. It's not because of time, it's the weight of the reason behind every tear. No matter how you force yourself to cry and tears begin to fall, you can do it all day and have no marks of pain. But no matter how much you stop yourself from crying, if the pain really demands to be felt, it will feel crying for more than just a day.

The door suddenly burst out open as I felt Cal stooped down infront of me.

He cupped my face and our eyes met. I  can hardly see him, my tears are blinding me.

"Cal," I said weakly in the middle of my sobs as my tears fall out more.

He suddenly pulled me for a tight hug. "Damn it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," he kept on saying.

I hugged him back. "Cal." I'm still crying and my sobs won't stop. I shook my head slowly, "It's not your fault."

He buried his face on my shoulder. "It's my fault. It's my fault. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

He let go of  the hug and faced me. His gentle aura awhile ago was replaced by a dark expression, "I won't let her hurt you again, got that? Come here, let's get you out of this hell."

He helped me get up and assisted me as we walked outside.

He did not let go of my hand as I stayed beside him.

"Where are we going?"

He turned and looked over me. "We'll make sure she won't get away with this," he said and we walked faster.

Minutes after, we reached an empty abandoned room at the end of the building.

"Anong ginawa natin dito?" tanong ko kay Cal, habang hawak pa rin ang kamay niya.

He grinned. "Wait and see."

He opened the door and inside, there's Crystal all-tied up on a chair.

"Pakawalan niyo ko!" sigaw nito.

Nandito rin si Cielo, Wade, at Logan.

"Ba't ang tagal niyo?" tanong ni Wade.

"Oo nga. Kanina pa kami naiirita sa boses niyan," sagot ni Cielo na masamang nakatingin kay Crystal.
