Epilogue

When I reached home, I honked so the guys will know I'm here. Not long 'til they opened the door, I rolled the car's window and smiled at the two of them. I drove to the garage and hopped out of the car.

"Mommy!" he ran towards me.

"Baby!" I called out with a smile and carried him up. "How's my little boy?" I asked.

He clapped his hands. "Daddy and I played basketball po!"

"Really?" then I glanced at his dad who just gave me a smirk. "Who won, then?" I asked as the three of us enter the house.

"No doubt," his dad said.

"Because I always win!" Kyle exclaimed.

I laughed at stuck my tongue out his dad.

He then chased me and Kyle, so I ran with my heels around the house.

"Aaah! Daddy will catch us po!"

"He won't," I laughed and continued to run with Kyle in my arms.

"Oh really," he said and ran faster until he reached me and our baby.

We all fell down the couch, laughing.

"Again po!" Kyle cheered.

Cal pulled him and me together in his arms, making Kyle sit on his lap and me beside him.

He kissed me and asked, "How's your day, doll?"

"Hmm, it was fine. I missed you and Kyle," I said. "Why are you early today?" It's always me who comes home first, since he works up to 9 to 10 o'clock at the company.

"I wanted to spend time with my boy," he said. "Right?" he asked Kyle.

He nods and cheered. "I had fun playing basketball po!"

I hugged Cal.

It's already been five years. And we now have a baby boy which is 4 years old. His name is Kyle Tyrone Aragon.

"When will we visit lolo and lola po?"  he suddenly asks.

We had our own house by the way, which is nearer to the company and the hospital I'm assigned, yes I'm finally a professional doctor now. The house isn't that far from our old houses, so we visit our parents maybe once a week or so.

"When are you free, love?" I asked Cal.

"Anytime," he said.

I raised an eyebrow, asking why.

"Well, for you and Kyle, I'm free anytime," he innocently says.

I rolled my eyes and smiled, "How about on Sunday?"

"After we go to church po?" our baby asks.

I nod. "Yes."

"Yehey!" he cheers and went to play with his yaya, which we really trust for she is Ate Tess' niece who got married early and needed a job.

We only hired a yaya for Kyle to take care of him during mine and Cal's working hours, but when we're home, we always catch up with our baby, making more time with him. We also have housemaids to take care of our house specially when we're busy.

I felt Cal pulling me closer, then kissed me.

"Hmm?"

"I missed my doll."

"I missed you too, love. When will we take Kyle to Hong Kong?" I asked, he always wanted to go to Disney Land, and we promised to take him there.

"Next month? I still need to process the papers," he said.

I nod. "Okay," I smiled and hugged him again.

Weeks passed and we had our vacation to Hong Kong.

I can't help but smile as I see how happy Kyle is. All we wanted is to make him happy.

"Mommy oh nasa heaven po tayo!" he cheered as he peeped outside the plane's window.

I chuckled. "Yes baby."

Cal held my hand and gave me a quick kiss.

I suddenly felt vomiting with the scent of lemon the steward held through the isle.

I excused myself and went straight to the bathroom.

I faced the sink and waves of nausea kept on washing over me, I looked pale.

It took me more minutes and Cal entered with a worried expression.

"Okay ka lang? Should I call someone now?" he asks and caressed my back.

I shook my head, "I'm fine."

"Doll I noticed, you kept on having morning sickness. Are you pregnant?" he suddenly asks.

My eyes widened. I noticed that, too. But is it possible?

When I couldn't answer, he suddenly smirks and cupped my face to kiss me again. He closed his eyes while mine stayed open, watching him smile as we kissed.

He excused himself and told me to wait for a while.

When he got back, he's holding a pregnancy test kit.

I rolled my eyes but went on with it anyway.

I felt tears streaming down my face as I saw the two red lines.

I went out and showed it to Cal. He suddenly carried me, nearly shouting how happy he is.

Looks like Kyle will be a kuya from now on.

We reached Hong Kong and Cal kept on talking about the baby. He said he wanted it to be a girl. Or it could be a guy but really wants it to be a girl now.

I just laughed.

We went over the place, exploring Disney Land and the parade of the disney characters the following day. Kyle was so happy.

On our way home, he hugged me and his dad.

"I love you po daddy and mommy," he says.

I smiled and looked at Cal, he's smiling too.

"We love you too baby," we said and together, we walked towards the car.

I don't know what to say anymore. Me and Cal, it was really fate, destiny, serendipity. We are each others' first, and last. I couldn't ask for more. Having him and Kyle is the best thing that has happened to me.

Others may say, "Happy endings are stories that haven't ended yet.", and it's true.

Life is not a fairytale, we can't always be a damsel in distress waiting for a prince. Life is different from fiction. Reality is different from books. We may have cliche moments, but it will still end up twisted upside down from the book we've read.

In reality, life is tough. But it teaches great lessons. It takes great sacrifices, but we have to choose the ones worth suffering for.

And Cal? He's worth everything.

We will always and forever be the greatest aesthetic paradox.

Poetry and music together isn't bad, I just learned it's actually love.

Happy endings are stories that haven't ended yet, but we are now living our happily ever after, for our story will never end.
