Nina's POV

I woke up, catching Ian sleeping soundly next to me. His arm was wrapped around my shoulder and his breathing was quiet, peaceful.

I smiled up at him and studied his features. His puffy eyes were closed tightly, red from actually crying last night. His face was tired though, his face drooping slightly.

I reached out and placed my hand on his cheek, running my thumb along his cheekbones. I snuggled in closer to him and breathed in and out.

I was done fighting with Ian, I was tired of all this drama. I didn't want to lose him anymore. Losing him hurt a hell lot more than staying with him and enduring all the arguments.

I kissed the bottom of his chin again and rest my head on his chest, listening to the silent beat of his heart.

"This is how I always want to wake up in the morning," he whispered. I looked up, my eyelashes brushing the edges of his jaw. "Hi you."

"Hey you," I said. "How are you?"

"Considering the fact that I got you back, lost you and got you back again all in one day," he said. "I'm probably the luckiest man alive."

I smiled and sat up. "When is anything ever going to get any easier?" I asked him, as if that was the most appropriate question this early in the morning.

"Hey," he sighed, sitting up too. He placed his hand on my waist and pulled me closer. I leaned my forehead on his and he smiled, placing his other hand on my face. "We should stop worrying about everything going easier, because that'll never happen," he sighed. "All we can wish for is that everything will be right."

I nodded and he kissed my forehead. "We're going to be as amazing as ever, Nina," he said. "You know that."

"I do," I said. "Come on, let's go check up on Torrey."

He smiled and stood up, walking over to grab his phone. "Do you know what time it is?" he asked in disbelief.

"No," I said, getting up. "What time is it?"

"2 AM," he said. "It's 2 in the morning, Neens."

I laughed and stood up, walking towards him. "2 in the morning, huh?" I asked. "We've never woken up this early."

"Why waste another hour sleeping when you could spend it awake with the love of your life?" he asked.

I shoved his shoulder playfully. "Okay, that was cheesy," I laughed. "Too cheesy."

He chuckled and walked over to me. "I don't care," he laughed. "As long as you're the only one who hears it, I'm all good."

I rolled my eyes at him and he laughed. "Don't roll your eyes at me," he said. "I'm seriously speaking here."

"Whatever," I said, walking towards the door.

I opened it slightly, but before I could, Ian grabbed me by the waist and pulled me back towards him. "Don't 'whatever' me, Dobrev," he said, kissing my neck.
