*Yay, update! :) i KNOW, SORRY FOR THE DRAMA AGAIN. Anyway, I just didn't know how to write a story that was all-the-way cheesy. It got too boring to right for me, even though I loved seeing Nina and Ian so playful and sweet. It's just my thing, sorry. I can't deal with too much sweetness in novels. I need fights and yelling and crying. I'm secretly a half-sadist. KIDDING. Hope you like this update! Catch you guys later! :DD Oh, and the song is by Jeremy Passion and TORI KELLY. Because those two are amazeballs!*
Ian's POV
"I hope so. Excuse me," was all I heard myself say to her before standing up and making my way to the bathroom.
I shrugged off my jacket and went inside, closing the door roughly behind me. With a trailer as big as this, it was almost impossible for me to feel like there was not enough room for me and Nina.
But, it was like my brain was telling me, "She's leaving you soon enough. Might as well beat her to the punch."
I rest my hands on the sink and stare at my reflection in the mirror.
This wasn't the way things were supposed to go. She and I were supposed to get back together. We were supposed to get married and have three kids.
We were supposed to be endgame.
I just didn't - no, I couldn't - understand what she could possibly get from Derek that she wasn't getting from me. Did she really need him that much in her life that she was willing to see past all the bullshit he's done? Didn't she need me more?
I stared at the guy looking back at me. He looked so tired. So done with everything that was going on with his life. Like, he was just so mad at the world.
Like, he was ready to give up.
I wiped my hand across my face and shook my head.
"Ian?" Nina's soft voice came from outside the door. I could hear the crack in it, like she's been crying the whole time I was in there.
I took in a deep breath and turned on the faucet, splashing cold water on my face. I didn't bother to wipe my face after.
I just stared at myself in the mirror.
She can't know you know about her and Derek, Ian. Don't make it obvious.
"I'll be out in a second," I told her, bracing myself for the worst. I held out my hand and turned the doorknob, pulling open the door.
She was standing there in front of me, her eyes already teary. I saw my jacket folded over in her hands, clutching it tightly.
"I'm sorry about that," I said, walking past her to the refrigerator. I opened it and grabbed a can of Corona, making my way to the couches.
"Ian," she said sadly.
I popped open the can and took a swig, looking at her as I did so. "Yeah?"
"I... I need to tell you something," she said, walking towards me. She sat next to me and put my jacket down on the table.
"What is it?" I asked. She held onto my hand tightly and looked away.
"I... I just-."
"Nina, Ian?" Zee yelled from outside the door. "We need you both back on set!"
Nina didn't take her eyes off of me when she said "We'll be right there!"
"Alright," Zee said. "Five minutes!"
Nina adjusted herself and cleared her throat, standing up. She looked at me awkwardly and said, "Work awaits," before turning away from me. She heaved out a huge sigh, like she was actually relieved that she didn't have to come out and tell me about her and Derek.
