"You'll be okay sweetheart, don't worry it'll be over soon." Mom tried comforting me by rubbing one of my arms as I leaned on the side of the birthing pool.

"I want it to be over now." I cried as another contraction hit.

"Do you want anything maybe some water?" Lucas asked kneeling at the side of the birthing pool and rubbing my back trying to help ease some of my pain.

"Nooo. I don't want anything, I just want this baby out now!" I screamed at him.

I had been having contractions since late the night before. My obstetrician had advised me before that when the contractions start, I shouldn't panic but start timing them and try to rest. She told me that being in labor could take up to 48hours or more so having contractions didn't necessarily mean the baby was coming immediately so it was good to try rest before the actual time of labour came and I'm already too exhausted. I tried following her advice but much sleep I couldn't get because every 15 minutes  I had jolted awake by contractions. Lucas was the one who stayed up with me whenever I couldn't sleep and I was thankful for the morning to come so that the midwife and the doctor could get here

We had decided to have a home water birth. My contractions were much more closer now as I was currently in the birthing pool waiting for this baby to pop out any minute now. I was already over 5cm dilated and the midwife told me that as soon as I was 10cm dilated I could start pushing. I just wanted this to be over and done with. A few months ago, Lexi had her son Tyler and she had told me about her experience but it was actually more intense experiencing it for myself.

"It's okay baby just breathe." Lucas said to me rubbing my back.

"No, it's not. It's not okay! Oww!" I screamed grabbing onto his hand and squeezing as I was hit with another contraction.

"I need to check the dilation progress once again." The midwife informed.

Usually I'd be really embarrassed or uncomfortable being in such a situation, being without my underwear with an audience and another person poking their finger around but at a time like this, I could care less about that. I just wanted this baby to get out of me.

"It'll be soon now." The midwife nodded. "Mr. Ackles it's alright if you want to get in with her. It'd be easier for you to try to comfort her and catch the baby."

"About how much cm dilated is she now?" I heard mom asked the nurse.

"She's approximately 8cm now." I heard her responded.

"Just a few more minutes now baby." Lucas said as he got in behind me and continued gently massaging my aching body.

"I don't know how much longer..." I started as I leaned back into his chest.

The pain was getting extremely hard for me to handle. I was only praying that this could be over right now. As I hung on waiting for this to be over as mom, Lucas and the midwives kept encouraging me and telling me it'd be over soon, I felt when the baby head started coming.

"It's coming. I think it's coming now." I said frantically.

I think I was being told to push but with all the pain and me screaming, I don't even think I was sure of anything else until I felt the baby finally popping out in the water.

"Look," Lucas chuckled with joy. "It's a boy."

"Oh my God." I managed to mumble out in between being out of breath and laughing and crying at the same time.

"I'm so proud of you sweetie." Mom said to me.

"You did good baby. It"s over now." Lucas said kissing my head. "Our son is here. You did good."
