"I have martial magic," the first boy responded.

"I have psychic," the other boy answered.

I nodded. 

The two could cover for me.

"I use darkness," I said.

Shadows emerged around me.

"Woah!"

"I'm Olivia."

The red haired boy grinned.

"I'm Elliot and this is Alexander."

Alexander remained as stoic as ever.

Was he reading our minds?

Shivers ran down my back.

I better be careful around him.

Alex smiled as he walked on ahead.

"Be alert you two," he warned. "Failing to do so will mean the end of you as mages."

We nodded as we followed him.

The rest of the groups glanced at us.

Their eyes were like those of insecure wolves.

Cornered animals were some of the more dangerous.

The dense air remained until our teacher snapped his fingers.

The boys pressed their backs against mine.

"Do you see any martial mages?"

A golden aura surrounded Elliot.

His smile vanished as his eyes narrowed.

"You're wise to take this seriously," his friends advised.

Suddenly a barrage of fists strike Elliot.

The attack nearly knocks Alex and me despite not being their target.

The attacking girl grinned.

"First one strikes," Alex said.

He raised the girl into the air with telekinesis.

However, a blast of shadowy energy sent him crashing into the floor.
