Elliot's aura vanished.

"What did you do that for?" he asked, rubbing his face.

I shook my head in disappointment.

"Look at your hands."

He noticed that his hands were red and covered in blood.

Ryan was on the ground, taking deep breathes.

Thalia who was also badly injured crawled over to him.

"Thalia, Ryan!" the girl who had first attacked Elliot yelled.

She pushed us aside and covered them in a gentle glow.

"She's a healing mage," Alex said as he slowly stood up.

Elliot hugged his friend, knocking him back to the ground.

"You're alive!"

Alex pushed him away.

"Stop it," he yelled. "You're embarrassing us."

Elliot continued to hug him.

"Hey, Olivia. A little help here!" Alex said.

I raised my hands. "Certainly."

I slapped Elliot once more until he let go of Alex.

"That hurts. You're really mean, you know that?"

Coming from a guy who almost killed someone?

I pinched his round cheeks.

"Well, it seems to be the only way to get you to do something."

"Careful," Alex warned. "Elliot here is a bit of a masochist."

I let go.

Elliot's face turned red. "Am not! Alex, don't lie!"

"What in the world is up with that guy?" the healing girl asked.

I shrugged. "Don't look at me, I barely met the guy."
