"I just am not, alright?" I grumbled.

Every single time, I am asked about why I'm not an ice mage.

Even back home.

Especially there.

Kids would always question as to why the daughter of the strongest ice mage in the world couldn't use it.

"Mom," I called out.

My parents were cuddled up, watching their favorite drama.

"What's wrong Thal?" Mother asked, raising her head from Dad's chest.

"I... I want you to teach me ice magic!"

"Ice magic?"

I nodded.

"Yeah. I want to be an ice mage like brother and you."

"Thal," Father said. "You can't use ice magic."

"Huh, why not?"

Father smiled nervously.

"Because, you see. You inherited my dark magic. There isn't any ice prana in you."

"Wah? That's not fair! How am I suppose to learn magic now?"

Father's smile faded.

He wasn't a mage.

His powers were taken from him by the strongest dark mage in the world, the Shadow Duke.

At one point, my dad had been among the strongest.

All of that changed after receiving a challenge from that man.

Father was overwhelmed completely.

Following his loss, the Shadow Duke had taken down all of his rivals.

To this day, no one can hope to defeat him.

However, one day, I hoped to do so.
