"you texted him?" willa asked her best friend. the two were standing in line at starbucks, planning on meeting the rest of their friends later on in the day.

"yep." ryan nodded, looking at the menu ahead of her. willa hit her arm. "dude!"

"what?" ryan questioned, giving a confused look to willa.

"what did you say?" willa asked, clutching her phone.

"i just said hey." ryan said.

"just hey?"

"just hey." she confirmed. willa opened her mouth to talk.

"i can help whoever's next." the cashier said, cutting willa off from speaking.

ryan smirked and walked to the register. "can i have a venti caramel macchiato?" she asked the cashier.

"and can i have the same?" willa asked, coming up behind ryan. "she's paying." willa smirked.

ryan rolled her eyes and paid before both of them walked to the end to wait for their drinks. "now, back to our conversation." willa said.

"i already told you." ryan said. "i just said hey."

"hey!" the two girls heard. "it's ryan, right?"

ryan turned around and looked at the guy who was speaking to her. she came face to face with a man with brown hair with a reddish tint and a new zealand accent. "yeah." she responded. "aren't you cole's friend?" she asked, recognizing him from the party and instagram.

"i am, i'm kj." he chuckled. "i've been wanting to meet you."

"really?" ryan asked.

"shit." he said. "that's sounded stalkerish."

"just a little bit." ryan chuckled.

"i see what cole sees in you." kj said.

"thanks?" ryan asked, her eyebrow raising in suspicion.

"lili and cami are in the car." kj said after a few seconds of awkward silence. "they want to meet you too."

"are they coming in here?" ryan asked.

"i can tell them to." kj said.

"this is so awkward." willa whispered in ryan's ear. ryan chuckled and pushed her friend's shoulder lightly.

"they are coming inside." kj said.

"okay." ryan said.

"ryan and willa?" the worker called to give them their drinks. the two girls went and got them.

"kj." they heard a girl say.

"lili, cami, this is ryan." kj said, introducing ryan to cole's other friends.

the blonde haired girl spoke. "oh, so this is cole's girlfriend?"

"not girlfriend." ryan clarified. "we've barely spoken."

"i'm cami." the brunette said. "are you sure you and cole aren't dating?"

"yeah." ryan chuckled. "definitely not dating, at all."

"that's disappointing." cami said. "you guys would be cute together."

"um, thanks?" ryan said. "we actually have to go meet our friends right now, but it was nice to meet you." she said, grabbing willa.

"bye, ryan." kj said.

"bye cole's girlfriend." lili said.

"what the hell?" willa said when they got outside.

"i don't know." ryan chuckled.
