"You're crazy," Michael said.

"I know, but... maybe?"

"No way in hell, why would someone fake a suicide? That's just messed up," Michael said, taking a handful of chips and stuffing them in his mouth.

"Yeah, you're right. I'm probably just imagining things," I said, leaning back on the couch.

I was in Michael's room. He lived in the same building, same floor, two doors down, from me. We usually hang out every night, watching movies, talking, doing whatever we want.

I would be lying if I said I didn't have any feelings toward Michael, but we were best friends, almost as close as siblings. It was a small, "crush" I guess you could say, that developed over the past week. But I didn't really act on my feelings, I was just a little more protective of Michael than the other guys.

"So how'd things work out with Emily?" I asked.

"Not good, but it's whatever. I didn't really like her anyway," he said.

"Oh, well that's too bad," I said, a little more monotone than intended.

"I should probably get some sleep, I have an early class tomorrow," he said.

"Oh, dang. Okay, I'll see you tomorrow then," I said, getting up.

"Wait, you never leave without a hug," he said, embracing me in his warm arms.

I smiled, "I guess not." We parted and I opened the door, "I'll see you tomorrow Mikey," I said.

"See you later, Y/N," he said, and I closed the door, walking back to my room.

"Let's go. C'mon, I have a surprise for you," he said as he led me somewhere.

"Okay, here it is," Calum said, untying the blindfold. I looked ahead to see Michael with a big, red bow on his head.

"What's Michael doing here?" I asked Calum.

"He's my replacement," he said.

"Cal, what're you talking about?" I asked.

"He's your new boyfriend now."

"B-but... you're my boyfriend," I said.

"He'll be your protector now. I have to leave for awhile," Calum explained, as he started to walk into the forest full of trees.

"But... where are you going?" I asked.

"I'll be back, I promise," he said, starting to walk off again.

"Cal," I said, reaching for his hand.

And then I woke up.
