Witch Hunts

I don't understand it

How one person can make the best of a lie

How they can take it to the point of others pain

Then it finally hit me...

Who is going to be next on their list

Just like that I hear the yells

I see people with torches and guns and pitchforks in my front yard

As I see who's in this hunt I find a surprise

The accuser is right upfront spreading her sin

I already knew all my enemies were there

But my greatest surprise...

Was seeing the ones I cared most about were along for the ride

I feel anger rise up

How can one person wrong all my rights

How one can feel pleasure in watching others burn

But above all I feel sadness

Not a sadness from my own actions

But a sadness for all the gullible down below

But not only the mislead and accuser is knocking down my door

But the ones out of spite who would do anything to hurt me

The ones who've been jealous for what I have

The ones that feel I've cheated

The ones who are there for entertainment

As I look below at the hateful crowd

I relies one thing...

The witch hunt has only just begun
