That was enough! I screamed at myself. Even though I am good to people, doesn't mean I am ready with my self respect as a door mat to welcome anyone to come and trample over. I pushed him aside and climbed up the side stairs.

All drenched in water, I walked towards the lawn. And the sight of my sweetheart left me heartbroken. That dog had dashed it and it was lying in mud with a broken chain. This can't be happening. I picked up the bicycle and started walking towards the gate. He was wearing his bathrobe and calling out to his dog, Marley! He tried to stop me but then my bruised self respect answered his man ego, "I don't trust strangers".  And got out of the house.

Ryan's POV

I had a messed up life. It was quite peacefulwith Riley's presence but I lost her. And this whole Taylor thing was gettingon my nerves. So I decided to take a leave. I came home. Only if I had tried abit earlier...I regret the time that I didn't spend with her... decided to takea swim. Nothing soothes the soul more than water. I slipped into my shorts and dived in the pool. The temperature was already set so, my body adjusted quickly. That water eased up my sore muscles. It felt so good.

Just then I heard the guard talking to someone at the gate. A bicycle! Wait I recognise that one, it's the one Riley has. How did she get here? I pretended to swim and went to the other side of the pool. She came in walking straight to me.

Blue top, dark black jeans and pair of converse and her hair tied up in a cute ponytail. They made her curls look prettier. But she seemed tired. After she asked me to come over her side, I went underwater so that she couldn't spot me and I just popped up in front of her just to see her reaction. That reaction made me disbelieve what had happened.

I could see a fear, of loosing me. Then I saw bags under her eyes, was she crying and not having sleep the previous night? But why do I care. She sat on her toes to give me the envelope and she was close. I could smell her mild aqua perfume. That's what I couldn't resist every time I met her. She is like a mystery. Even her perfume doesn't let anyone know its presence until one gets real close.

Then a ball hit the side and I saw Marley running towards her. She yelled and fell right on me. I pulled her out. Her body against mine. God..I yearned that touch. After a long time, I felt the warmth of her body. And I snapped back to reality. She wasn't mine. And I went cold on her.

I guess I hurt her pride. She walked out and trailed off with her bicycle that Marley destroyed. It was freaking cold outside, I could still feel numb. How can I be an insensitive jerk? The only thought of her out in this cruel cold made my heart melt. I ran out to call her back.

POV end.

And I still wanted him to stop me. Yeah. Such a hopeless romantic I was. Why don't guys get it? That when a girl says "I am done", she actually wants you to "fight for her". How can a guy just give up without even trying. Men will be men. -_-

Then I heard someone calling my name. I turned over to see it was him. I just ignored him and walked faster. I don't want him to hurt me again. He came running and came forward to block my way. I asked him to leave and he being adamant, I decided to slap him. Before my hand would touch his cheek, he caught it mid-air . I protested to leave my hand from his grip. " You are all drenched, you will catch a flu, get inside the house", he spoke. One moment he is Mr.Jerk and all of a suddenly turns into Mr. Right guy.

I cursed at him madly, he shut my mouth with one hand and with the other picked me up bridal style and started walking towards his house.

The sudden change of heart? This behaviour confuses the heck outta me. He pushed the door to his hallway open and there we were in his mansion. Marble flooring with carpets at segments, the beautiful fall ceiling with a chandelier in between just stole the beauty...I was mesmerised seeing the art and architecture of his house.

It felt like a prince carrying his princess after marriage to a beautiful home.

He asked, "Anna, please open the guest room for her!"

To which she replied, "Sir, there are some leakages that need to be fixed in there."

Anna was the housekeeper, a sweet old lady in her sixties, her white hair with strands of black and the faint wrinkles were visible but her smile was still prettier. Ryan started taking the stairs.

Me: Where are we going?

Ryan: To my room.

Me: Put me down. I can walk. I don't need your help, am not a small baby okay?

Ryan: You aren't a baby...babies are cute and look at you. I won't let you dirty the floor.

Even if we weren'ttogether, that comment stung. That's just bad. Guys...why are you so meansometimes?!

A/N: Woah, the badboy wants to be good guy? Stop playing so hot and cold on her!

But here we are with some moments of their closeness! We must thank Marley for bringing them closer! :D And the last comment though, just ouch!

Stay glued to the journey & find out about their close moments ahead!
