Today, for the very first time, Kristen gets to sit at lunchtime with Suzie Riemer again. This time, however, they're sitting alone, in a secluded little corner.
Suzie has seen that Kristen has been sitting alone at lunch, and has decided to join her.
"How are you?" , Suzie breaks the sound of silence.
Kristen shrugs. "Been better, I guess."
Suzie pushes a streak of her blonde hair behind her ear. "Why? What's wrong?"
The brunette looks at her with sharp eyes. "Why did you ditch me?"
Suzie lowers her head from shame. She doesn't speak for a while. Kristen can't take her eyes off her, nervously waiting for her reply.
"My friends don't like you," confesses the blonde girl.
So that is why Suzie has been avoiding Kristen for the past few months, since the "hairy legs" accident.
The girls catch up at lunch, despite their differences. Just when they're about to get up to throw away their litter, Suzie asks something unexpected:
"How did you get these scars?"
