In one beautiful day in June, just days before Kristen finishes grade seven, it is announced that the next school year she will be on distance education.
They have announced it when she has been outside, playing with the dogs.
"That's not fair!" , screams Kristen and runs inside, furious.
Her parents follow her, they try to calm her down but she pushes them away. She doesn't want to see anybody.
Her arm is itchy. She wants to scratch it. But not only this.
She remembers when Max the cat has scratched her, the jerking blood. And the first time she has shaved her legs.
She remembers when the blood has taken away her mind from her feelings.
Kristen has heard about people using razors to paint pretty pictures on their wrists. Some to numb the emotional pain, others - to attract the attention.
Harming herself like this can make her stop thinking about her problems. But can it make her parents change their mind about distance education?
