Jaymee Viola Patterson
Light snoring came from the side of my head. I looked over to see Blondie curled up on a pillow, dead asleep. I laughed as he snorted and turned over.
"It's like sleeping in the bed with a man." I laughed.
I got out of the bed and put on Nike sweat suit short set. I zipped up the jacket and made my way downstairs. The doorbell rang as soon as I hit the bottom step. I walked over and pulled it open, finding my sister and niece standing there.
"When the hell did you get a dog?" She said as she stepped in.
"Zion got me one." I said as I went to my room to get him.
I brought him back downstairs to an excited Leilani. I set him in her lap as she started to rub him.
"He's cute." E said as she rubbed him.
I walked into the kitchen and pulled out stuff to make bacon, eggs and waffles. E walked in, behind me.
"Thought you said you weren't having kids with him." She smirked.
"Blondie is my dog. He bought it for me." I shrugged.
"It starts out furry. Then you actually have to carry it for 9 months." She said.
I rolled my eyes and kept cooking.
"I'm just saying, Jay. I'm sorry." E sighed.
"It's cool. You right." I said.
My phone rang, scaring me and Evelyn. I picked it up and put it between my ear and my shoulder, laughing.
"What you laughing at?" Zion asked.
"Not you. My main nigga just told me a joke." I chuckled.
"I'll beat yo ass, don't play with me." He growled.
"What do you want, Zion?" I sighed.
"I gotta be gone for a couple days." He sniffed.
"Where you going?" I asked.
I turned the oven off and leaned against the counter.
"I got some out of town stuff to handle. Do I ask you where you going?" He asked.
"Yes, actually. You do." I laughed. "Is she going with you?"
The line stayed silent.
"Zion, I asked you a question." I said.
"Yeah, she going." He sighed.
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay. I'll just talk to you when you get back, I guess." I sighed.
I ran my fingers through my hair, something I did when I was frustrated.
"I can't call you tonight?" He asked.
"You can do whatever you want, Zion. You do anyways." I said.
He smacked his lips.
"Man, whatever. I love you, Jaymee." He said.
"I bet." I said before hanging up.
I set my phone down on the counter before going back to cooking.
"What he do now?" E asked.
"He's going out of town and he's taking her with him." I said.
She shook her head as she lightly laughed.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, girl. Nothing. You think you could keep Lei this weekend?" She asked.
"I got nothing else to do." I shrugged.
"Thank you, sissy." She said as she kissed my cheek.
"Ew. What you doing this weekend anyway?" I rubbed it off.
"Ronnie wants to take me somewhere out of town." She waved it off.
I smirked and bumped her hip.
"Well, you two have fun. Bring me home a nephew." I smirked.
"I'm leaving." She said as she left out the room.
I laughed as I followed her back into the front room.
"You staying with TT and Blondie. Okay?" E bent down to Lei's level.
She nodded as she kept playing with the dog. E kissed the top of her head.
"I love you, Leilani." She said.
"I love you too, Mommy. Tell Daddy I love him too." She smiled.
"Will do." She said before turning to me.
"Thank you, love you, bye." She said as she left.
"Have fun, love you too." I said as I locked the door.
I turned to a panting Blondie and excited Leilani.
"Come on you guys so you can eat." I pushed them to the kitchen.
My phone rang again. I looked at it, seeing it was Zion. I silenced it, throwing it on the couch. I can't deal with that right now.
