Jaymee Viola Patterson

I sat on the couch in my living room, waiting for Zion to get up. I had eaten and walked Blondie, which left me with nothing to do but wait on him.

"Hey." I heard a voice behind me.

I turned to see Zion standing against the door frame with his hands in his pockets.

"Hey." I returned.

He walked over to the couch and sat across from me, leaving a space for Blondie between us.

"You good?" I asked.

He shook his head yes. It took a lot for Zion to get drunk but when he did, there was no going back.

"I took the pain pills you left out for me. Thank you." He said.

I nodded my head lightly.

"So, you ready to talk?" I asked.

I knew that last thing he wanted to talk about was this situation but it had to be brought up. He nodded again before focusing his eyes on me.

"I can go first?" I pointed to myself.

He nodded again. This was a first, Zion always went first.

"I think it's real petty of you to come back around now. What if I actually like Micah?" I asked.

He shrugged like a little boy being shunned.

"You expected me to just forget about him and come right back to you." I said.

He didn't move for a moment then nodded his head. At least he was being honest.

"That's what happened with every other guy." He said.

"So, you do remember?" I asked.

There had been other guys but as soon as Zion felt me cutting our ties, he swooped back in and took me out of the situation.

"Of course I remember, Jay. I remember every time a nigga almost took my place." He sighed.

For as long as I had known Zion, he never showed his vulnerability like this. It made him seem more human.

"So, what do you want me to do?" I asked.

"Whatever makes you happy." He sighed.

"What if you make me happy?" I smirked.

He smiled at me before looking down at his fingers.

"I love you, Zion, and I would love to be with you but you gotta prove it to me. Not by buying the best stuff there but by actually being there. Then, I can give you a final answer." I said.

"Like a test or something?" He asked.

"Yeah, let's call it a trial period. 6 months of you doing right by me." I said.

"That's a long ass time." He mumbled.

"It's up to you. You back out, it was nice knowing you." I shrugged.

"Nah, I need to do this. I ain't letting you go that easy, Jay." He said.

I stuck my hand out for him to shake, which he did. I tried to pull away but he pulled me on top of him, making me laugh.

"I love you, too, Jay." He said before kissing all over my face.

Blondie started to yap, making him put me down. This could be the brand new start of Jaymee and Zion, who knows? But what am I going to do about Micah?
