P.S. Sorry if the Italian isn't correct... I do NOT speak it - I used Google Translate.
Translation of the Italian will be written in A/N.
Matt
I walked through the doors to the cafeteria, joined by no one. I made my way to Jenna and Courtney, hesitating slightly at the sight of the other two girls sitting across from them. Jules gave me a slight smile and I nodded. I walked the rest of the way to the table, greeting, "Ladies."
I slid into a spot beside Georgia. They were all softly picking at their food, quiet.
Courtney then asked, "You still coming on Sunday?"
I glanced up at her, "Of course. I promised you, right?"
Courtney flashed a bright smile at me, "Perfect."
It wasn't long before three other guys joined the table. William, Justin and Alexander, sliding in like it was natural. I'd never sat with those three... ever.
Alex began rambling, "We're playing London Academy tomorrow night. You guys know how hard they are to play. They smash-"
"Alex!" Justin half-shouted, "Shut up, dude."
Will winced, "If I hear one more word about stupid London Academy, I'm going to punch something."
"Just don't break your hand," Courtney sighed, "We need that quick hand for the team."
Always the team with these people.
"Actually, you can play rugby with a broken arm. You'd take special consideration but it-"
I glanced at Alex, "Dude, calm the fuck down."
Alex quietened immediately, Justin smirking at him. A comfortable silence fell on the group.
"Well..." Jules murmured, "This isn't an odd group at all."
Justin smirked, "Agreed."
Alex rolled his eyes, "Idiots, this is the most- that was sarcasm wasn't it...?"
I sighed at him. He had fewer brain cells than Jenna. I glided my gaze across to her. She was laughing at something Courtney had just whispered into her ear. Alex was trying to get Courtney's attention. Justin and Jules were in a deep conversation about the upcoming rugby game. Will was picking at his food intently, separating what seemed to be tomatoes and everything else.
Finally, my eyesight landed on Georgia. Quieter than usual. Her new haircut didn't shield her face as well, as it was tucked behind her ears. Her bright blue eyes were unusually dull, focused on the interaction between Courtney and Jenna. But I noticed most prominently, the dark bags under her eyes. The tinge of red surrounding her bright blue irises. The slightly slumped way she held herself.
I whispered, "Are you okay?"
She lifted her head infinitesimally and then dropped it.
The smallest and most unconvincing nod in the world. I shook my head and murmured, "Not buying it. Are you sure you're okay? Need to talk about anything?"
Georgia's head lifted so suddenly that everyone's eyes snapped to her. She took a deep breath and then exhaled sharply. She pulled her hands out of her pockets and placed them on the table. They were shaking slightly.
Jenna stood up slowly, reaching across the table to touch her arm, "Are you okay, Gee?"
She stood up so quickly that I barely saw the movement. She looked at all of us individually until her gaze landed on me. I froze. My hands trailed down from her shocked eyes to her trembling mouth and then her shaking hands. My eyes froze on her hands instead.
