I find it funny how people always say that procrastination is a bad habit to develop and do all of the time. And yet, everyone still does it. I tell myself the same thing everyday but I myself do it too. Sometimes I catch myself laughing at the irony of it all.

Which is why I'm currently packing the day right before I have to go to the resort. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. Every time I do these sort of things, I get highly stressed out. My brain also tends to overthink things and I end up packing way more things than I actually need. I guess it's not a whole bad thing though. I'll know I'd be ready for anything.

This also explains why I have a suitcase, a duffle bag, and a big backpack packed for my four week stay at the resort.

"Elise! Dinner's ready!" My dad calls from downstairs.

"Coming!" I yell back down. I set all of my bags on the side of my room and made my way downstairs.

As soon as my foot reached the bottom of the stairs, the delightful scent of dinner made its way to my nose. From the way it smells, I can already tell that it's quesadillas. When I get into the dining room, the quesadillas are already set in our usual eating spots and in the middle are separate white bowls with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa with spoons.

"Hey El!" My mom says coming into the dining room with dad.

We all take our seat and start to make our quesadillas the way we wanted them. I'm not much of a guacamole or salsa fan when it come to this particular meal but I love sour cream.

"You ready for the resort?" My dad asks, taking a bite into his first quesadilla.

After finishing the food that I was currently chewing, I say, "Sort of. Just a little nervous" I explain truthfully.

"You'll be fine El! Just think of it as a time you get to spend with your friends rather than work!" My mom exclaims.

Although she has a valid point, the unsure feeling I got when I was signing up for my work position comes back. I don't know why I have this feeling. Maybe it's because I'll be seeing more of Daniel and Katie together.

The thought makes my heart sink. Maybe that's why I have this "bad" feeling. If it is, then I should get myself a straw and suck it up because it's not like I can do anything about it. And that's life. You don't always get what you want but you get what you deserve.

And I hope whatever I get is something good.

I'm awoken by my face being hit with something soft but...hard at the same time. A groan escapes my lips and I cover my face with my pillow.

"El! We're going to be late! Wake up!"

I force my eyes to open against the harsh morning sunlight.

"What are you talking about Willa? Can't a girl get her beauty sleep?" I mumble against my pillow. I had a hard time sleeping last night. There were too many things going on in my mind. I kept turning and kicking my blanket on and off trying to get comfortable. But nothing seemed to work.

"Uh, we have exactly an hour to get to the resort! Ring a bell?" Willa says.

At the mention of the resort, my body gets alert, making me spring out of bed and into the bathroom to get myself ready. I guess staying up getting caught in my own thoughts was a bad move on my part.

After changing, I gather my suit case, duffle, and backpack also making sure I have purse tucked away inside of my backpack just in case I'll need money. While I'm doing all of this, Willa sits on one my couches waiting. And quite impatiently I might add.

"Finally!" She says when she sees I'm ready to go.

She helps me carry my duffle to her car and I tell her I'll meet her there. I kiss my mom and dad goodbye and made my way to the car. The car ride was anything but quiet. There were times where Willa and I would sing along to the song playing on the radio at the top of our lungs and times we would talk like we haven't known each other before.

When we arrived, we literally had five minutes to check into our former period one teacher. So after grabbing all of our luggage, both Willa and I booked it to the check in area. We were met with a whole crowd consisting of students that attended our high school.

After checking in with my former chemistry teacher, I made my way to where Daniel, Jayce, James, Willa, and Violet were standing. But to my dismay, Katie was here also. Not to be mean though. She is after all my dance captain. But the smile Daniel flashed me as I arrived, made me feel so much better. And what also makes it even more better, is that he's also wearing our bracelet.

I know that shouldn't be a shock, considering we did promise each other we'd wear it everyday but, it's still a heartwarming sight to see.

Not even a couple minutes later, we all had to put our things in our rooms and head to our stations to start working already. I, out of everyone here was surprised we had to get to work already. I thought we had until tomorrow until they told us what we have to do. Everyone else doesn't seem surprised though.

As soon as I got to my room, I'm quickly taken aback by how nice it was. I knew this was a resort and all but, since the resort manger or whatever said we all needed separate rooms, I thought the rooms would have been given were to be the not so nice looking ones.

When I found out we were all getting separate rooms, I immediately questioned it. I mean, wouldn't they want to save the other rooms so they could have more people stay? It turns out that the resort manager didn't want us staying up all night playing around. I guess that was understandable.

I set my bags on the side and started to wonder around the small but beautiful room. There was a small front room with a couch and coffee table. From there, there's a white closed door. After opening it, there's a bathroom to the left of me once I stepped in. After going a little further inside, a bed sitting in front of a dresser with a tv on top comes to view. Although the bed takes up most of the space, the room still didn't feel cramped.

I plopped down on my bed faced down hoping to get in some relax time. But of course with my luck, someone yells outside of my door saying we have to head to our stations.

And as I walk to the kitchen, I couldn't help but hope that this summer job thing will go well.
