I wake up to Maxon's arm wrapped around my waist, and his lips moving on my neck.
I puts my hand on his, which is on my stomach.
"Good morning," I say.
"Morning gorgeous," he says after a few more kisses.
I turn around and face him. I smile and put my hand on his cheek
He smiles back at me.
"So handsome," I comment.
"Oh really?"
"Really."
"How sweet."
"Just the truth."
"Give me a kiss love."
I kiss him softly.
He pulls my body against his and kisses me harder.
I let him and kiss him back.
I run my hand up his bare chest and onto his shoulders.
His muscles feel so good and are so attractive I nearly melt every time.
We continue to kiss until I move back.
He looks at me.
I smile at him.
"Someone's in a good mood," I notice.
"How can I not be? I have you," he flirts.
"Oh stop it."
"You're my everything America."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I kiss his cheek and sit up.
He tries to make me lay back down.
"Maxon. We need to get up," I tell him.
"But I want to cuddle," he complains.
I look at him and sigh.
"Fine, fine," I give in.
I lay back down in front of him and hug him. He hugs me back.
"How was the town yesterday?" I ask.
"Well, destroyed. But they began clearing out any wreckage from the area, and two homes were actually fixable, so we will be restoring them," he explains.
"I feel so bad for those people."
"I know. Their homes, things people grew up with, every thing they know is destroyed."
"I can't imagine what those people are going through."
"A lot. They didn't just lose homes. They lost their families in the attack as well."
"It's so horrible."
"It is. To attack an innocent village with nearly no way to protect themselves."
"And no mercy."
"I heard that some of the men tried to fight back with shot guns or torches, but they were so outnumber and really, outweaponed too."
"I don't know how they could just do that. It's sick."
"It's what they think they need to do to win."
"Well they're crazy."
"They are."
"I hate them."
"Me too."
I sigh and we sit there holding each other.
"When are the construction workers going to start rebuilding homes?" I question.
"Probably today. They had a little more to clear out this morning, but it should be done by now. They also have to sketch things out," he answers.
"I hope they can restore the town to what it used to be."
"I hope so too."
"Those people deserve their homes and lives back."
"And they'll get them back. We're restoring what never should have been broken."
I nod in a agreement.
"I'm glad we're at least doing our best to put the town back together and give the people their lives back."
"Me too."
I get up and grab a change of clothes.
"Are you getting a shower?" Maxon asks.
"No. I got mine last night," I reply.
"Alright."
I go in the bathroom and get ready for the day.
Once I have my day dress on I put my hair up in a tight ponytail. I put the stone heart necklace around my neck. I check that I look ok in the mirror, then I leave the bathroom.
Maxon looks at me when I come out.
I put my dirty clothes in the bin.
"Well hello there," Maxon says in a flirty voice.
I roll my eyes.
"Yes?" I ask.
"Come here," he requests.
I go over.
He puts his hands on my waist.
"Can I help you sir?"
"Oh yes you can."
He pulls me into his lap.
I laugh and smile.
I look at him.
He kisses me hard.
I kiss him back.
I put my hand on his chest.
He hits moves on my thigh.
We continue to kiss for a long time.
I move back a bit.
"Someone's in a good mood," I notice.
"I have the most amazing wife in the world. Of course I'm going to be in a good mood."
I smile.
"You look beautiful today," he complains.
"Thank you handsome," I appreciate.
"Ready to go downstairs?"
"Yep."
He takes my hand and helps me up.
He gets up and we go downstairs while holding hands.
We go downstairs.
Heidi is sitting on the island in the kitchen talking to Christopher while he cooks lunch.
I now realize it's almost noon.
"Good morning," Heidi says to us with a smile when we walk in.
"Good morning," I say back.
I smile and sit by her.
"Sorry we missed breakfast," Maxon apologizes.
"Don't be. You don't have to eat breakfast if you don't want it," Christopher assures.
"Alright. We slept in and we were going over everything about the town."
"Oh ok. What are you guys thinking?"
"Just that we need to help restore it as quickly as possible for the surviving towns people."
"Right."
Christopher nods in agreement.
"Do you know if they finished clearing out the area yet?" I ask.
"They did. A construction worker called and asked for permission to start so I gave it to him."
"How long is it going to take to rebuilding everything?"
"Well we have have lots of workers on site so maybe two weeks."
"We should go see how they're progressing later," Maxon says.
"That's a good idea."
"You girls can come too."
I smile.
"I shouldn't go," Heidi says.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I need to be resting and preparing for the baby."
"I don't really want you to go anyway," Christopher breaks in.
"Well I'll go," I gladly accept the invitation.
"We can go after dinner. It's probably the best time," Maxon suggests.
"You're right. That's probably the best time to go. They'll have most of their work for the day done by then," Christopher agrees.
He gives us all bacon and cheese perogies and puts a fruit tray in the middle of the island.
We all talk while we eat.

For dinner Christopher made us pan crusted chicken with Alfredo noodles.
He gets wine for himself and Maxon. He gives Heidi and I water.
"This looks great Chris, thank you," I appreciate with a smile.
"You're very welcome," he smiles back.
Maxon holds up his glass.
"A toast, to fixing this town together. For our people and our country."
We all hold our glasses up then drink.
"Let's hope they've gotten the work done we've wanted them to get done," Christopher comments.
"I hope they at least got most of it done. They should have it all done, but we'll see," Maxon adds.
"I'm not sure how reliable the workers are. I've never hired this company before."
"That's ok. As long as it gets done."
He nods.
I turn to Heidi while the boys talk more business.
"Is all they talk about business?" I joke.
"A lot of the time yes," she smiles at me.
"That's alright. We'll talk about more fun things. Like babies."
"Very fun topic."
"So. Do you have everything ready for the baby?"
"I think so. We have the nursery set up so hopefully everything is there."
"I'm sure you guys got everything. Maxon and I worried about it too but we did fine."
"I hope we do fine with our kid."
"I bet you will. You seem like the mom type."
"I do?"
"Oh yeah."
"Thanks. I think."
"You're welcome."
We continue to chat about babies until the boys are ready to go.
Christopher leads us to the car.
One of our guards drives us to the site.
I nearly cry when we arrive.
A burnt up home is still standing next to what used to be trees. Furniture and children's toys that used to belong to the house are now somewhat destroyed and laying in front of the house.
Beyond where the tress used to be is a lot of land with nothing on it but dead crops. That's where the bigger fields used to be.
There's a huge pile of burnt up wood from the unstable or already knocked down houses and barns. Next to it is a waste bin full of the unburnable items.
Several workers are starting to rebuild a home next to the surviving trees. It had sad lot done to it, but won't be complete until tomorrow.
We walk over closer to the construction area. The man in charge approaches us.
He bows then says," hello your majesties. Hello Chris. I'm Jeremy. How can I help you?"
"We just wanted to see the progress so far," Maxon explains.
"Right. It took awhile to get everything where it needed to go and our waste bin guy was really late getting here. We're a bit behind but not much."
"Will the house still be finished tomorrow?"
"Yes sir. And we'll start to build the barn."
"Good."
"Is there anything we can do to help?" I jump in.
He looks at me and thinks about I.
"Actually, I think there is," he concludes.
"I don't know if it's a good idea. I don't want her to get hurt," Maxon cuts us off.
"We're getting the plants in tomorrow. She could help plant trees. And you two can if you'd like as well," Jeremy tells us.
"I'd love to do that," I say.
"Are you sure American?" Maxon asks.
"Yeah. I don't mind."
"Alright. I'll help too."
"I can help but not for too long," Christopher says.
"Ok. The plants will get here at around three so whenever you want to come after three is fine."
"Great," I excitedly smile.
The other workers go over to the pile of wood.
It's getting dark now, so they must be finishing their work.
"I better go make sure they don't mess this up," Jeremy teases.
"What are they doing?" I question.
"Burning the wood that was saved but not really saved."
"Oh."
"You're welcome to watch if you'd like."
He bows then goes over to his men.
I hold Maxon's hand as we watch them pour gasoline on it and light it up.
The flame is huge and I can feel it's heat still from nearly ten feet away.
I hug Maxon's arm.
Watching the wood burn makes me want to cry. That wood was people's homes. I know it's just wood, but I know this attack has hurt people in more than one way. That those people will never be the same ever again. And there's nothing we can do about it.
I feel several emotions while watching this wood burn; sadness, helplessness, pity, and most of all, anger.
