"I've never heard of them before. What are they?"

Xael: "It is hard to explain. Some people consider them to be our creators; others believe they do not exist."

"I don't understand."

Xael: "Elementals are what you read about as a girl, in those folklore books."

"You mean the ones you gave me about the Gnomus, Sylvestris, Undina, and Vulcanus."

Xael: "Yes and don't forget about the stories of the gods and goddesses."

"But I thought these people died long before we roamed this world."

Xael: "Not exactly. Too many people were exploiting their powers, trying to harm them so they went into hiding."

"How do you know about them?"

Xael: " All royalty knows, meaning the Alphas and council. The king and queen of the Vampires. The queen of the witches as well as the king of the warlocks. Centuries ago the leaders at the time had a big meeting with them where they had a truce with the Elementals. In that truce it states that no one would go looking for them or even harm them if they were to be discovered. If any of our people broke this truce then there would be dire consequence for the people involved. That's why it was decided that the best way to avoid war with them was to lie to everyone besides the inner circle about their existence. I believe two decades ago some Elementals did decide to come out of hiding, but then they disappeared again."

"So what do these people have to do with the meeting called today?"

Xael: "They attacked, well I should say they destroyed our land at the kingdom of Eterene. The entire forest is dead, the animals are dead, and all the water has evaporated."

"How do you know it was them? You said they are in hiding, trying not to be discovered."

Xael: " They left a note.... well a warning to the alpha of that territory....."

I watch as his face drops to sadness as he trails off from talking as if thinking about something conflicting.

"Xael what is it?"

He looks back up at me, putting a fake smile on his face before leaning in to kiss my forehead.

Xael: " It is nothing to worry about. You shouldn't be scared. I have everything under control. What have you been up to, my little Winnie?"

Should I tell him about the necklace?

"The necklace."

He sighs a bit in frustration before brushing a stray piece of hair back behind my ear.

Xael: "Should I be worried about your new obsession with your locket?"

"Xael, you have to believe me it is doing weird magic. It listens to me."

Xael: "Win maybe you need to see the human healer about this."

"Xael don't patronize me. It does magic."

I sniff a bit, before a single teardrop trickles down my cheek.

Xael: "Win, seriously? Cut it out. I am not in the mood for your tears. I said I believe you about that stupid necklace."

"It isn't stupid! My parents gave it to me, you insensitive jerk."

My entire body begins to heat up as I feel the hotness spread by the necklace engulf me. Glancing down I can see it glowing an eerie red as I look to Xael for answers.
