Nilingon ko si Sequi na naka-upo sa malayo at kunwaring nagbabasa ng newspaper. Titig na titig siya dito sa upuan namin. Seryoso lang ekspresyon niya at halata ko 'yon kahit medyo malayo. Gumagalaw din ang converse shoes niya sa ibaba ng mesa.

Lumingon na ako sa harap kung saan naka-upo si Asher. Kumakain pa rin siya at hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin. Is he expecting me to start a conversation? If he is, damn, this day will be useless. Sayang ang oras niya, pati na rin ang oras ko.

Tinitigan ko na lang siya. Maybe he'll find me creepy and will address me as weird and rude, but staring at him is worth the judgement. Ang gwapo!

Parang gusto ko ng architect na asawa.

His lips are thin! His eyes are black and very intense to look at. Hindi bagay sa personality niya. His hair was fixed that's making him obviously a professional worker. Hindi gan'on kahaba ang pilik mata niya pero hindi naman nabawasan ang ganda ng mga mata niya. And his eyebrows were perfectly made.

No, scratch the word perfect. Sequi has the perfect eyebrows for me.

Nagulat ako nang mababaw siyang tumawa at pinatong ang mga kamay sa lamesa. Tinignan ko ang pagkain niya at sa tingin ko ay tapos na siya.

Ito na naman ang puso ko! Sobrang kabado.

"So... You just graduated this year?" Paninimula niya.

Ang mga mata niya ay nakatitig sa mga mata ko. May bahid din ng tuwa ang mga labi niya.

"Uhmm," I chuckled. "Yes... I just graduated this month," pagtatama ko. "Well, also this year,"

Baka kasi magalit kung hindi ako sang-ayon sa sinabi niya. Well, this month is more accurate. This year is a bit... farther from accuracy.

"This month, then?" he chuckled.

"No, it's okay. This year na lang." I gave him an apologetic smile.

Mas lalo siyang natawa. "You're cute,"

Nanlaki ang mata ko, natuwa sa sinabi niya. "I am?!"

Hindi ko na napigilan ang malakas kong boses. Okay lang naman dahil karamihan sa crowd ay foreigners. They wouldn't mind. Hindi rin naman gan'on karami ang tao.

"Yes, you are!"

He said as a matter of fact!

This is not my first time being called cute, okay? Sequi is always telling me that. Also my mom. But, him, telling me cute is different! Kakakilala lang namin! He's kinda stranger to me— actually.

I know his words can be half truth and half lie, but I'll try to believe in the latter this time. I just want to flatter myself. Never mind of being negligent for some time.

We decided to go for a window shopping. He paid for our bill first and I said my gratitude for that. I so feel like a lady! I acted like putting some strand behind my ear when he's walking in front of me. Binuksan niya ang pintuan.

Ngumiti siya at lumabas na ako. Habang nakatalikod ay kinagat ko ang ibabang labi ko.
