Denis POV

I stare into space. Me, Alex, and Corl were at the park, at midnight. Corl said he needed to tell us something... and it was urgent.
"So... what do you need to tell us?" I ask him.
"Uhh... well.. I-I m-met t-this g-girl..." I force myself to smile. I have to be happy for him.
"A-and s-she w-wants t-to move to Montreal w-with m-me..."
"You don't have to ask us permission to move corky!" Alex said to him. He smiled.
"Yeah Cork! Your a man! You can make these decisions!"

I was dying inside.

MY Corl... was dating a girl... and she was taking him away from me. I was so close to confessing my love too...

"Denis? Are you alright?" Alex snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Y-yeah... y-yeah... I-I'm f-fine..."

I lied.

"Ok then..." Alex said. Corl didn't say anything.
"We should head home... it's really late." I said, breaking the silence.
"Ok." Corl and Alex agreed.

~~time skip to when they get home~~

*alex yawns* "I'm gonna head to bed."
"Ok! Goodnight Alex!" I said.
"Night!" Corl said. I went to go upstairs, but Corl stopped me.
"Can we talk? Downstairs?" He asked.
"Ok..." I followed him to his room downstairs, and we sat on his bed.
"Are you mad?" He suddenly said.
"N-no... w-why w-would I be m-mad?"
"Stop lying. Are you jealous?" I look down at my feet.
"Braden I need to tell you something..."
"I'm listening..."
"I-I'm g-gay..." I feel hot tears in my eyes. He hugged me.
"Denis? Can I ask you something?"
"What?"
"Are you gay... for me?" I freeze. Did he read my mind?
"Don't hate me..." I said through tears. He didn't say anything.
"I-I-I-" he stuttered. "I'm NOT gay... I don't want to be... that life is behind me."
"I KNEW IT!" I yell at him, standing up. "I KNEW YOU WERE HIDING SOMETHING!" He looked down.
"Did you ever like me?" I asked, scared of his answer.
"Y-yes.."
"Why? Why did you push me away?"
"I- i- I can't... I can't be gay... i-i j-just c-can't."

"YOU CAN BE WHOEVER YOU WANT TO BE! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!!!"
