THE GIFTED ONE

Chapter 13

I woke up,  ready to start a new day.
I thought that if  I was going to be at bottom of all the students, I would try and be the best at the bottom.

The time was  7:00 so I decided that instead of sitting in bed wasting my time I would go and start training. I got dressed  and walked into the grand hall.

There was no one there so I grabbed a blueberry muffin, my favourite and some apple juice and ate it whilst I was heading to the training room.

When I arrived I started to warm up, I did two laps of the room and then some shuttle sprints. After that I started with some boxing, which is one of the best ways to incorporate cardio and muscle strengthening. I did this for about fifteen minutes then decided to do some kick punches.

I was about to start them when a group of girls came in. I decided to ignore them, eventhough I could hear them whispering about me.

Luckily I was facing my back to them so I could't have seen the look on their faces.

I carried on doing my kick punches.

After a few minutes, other people were starting to come in so it must have been time for training.

I decided to stretch a bit before the day ahead, when the same blonde girl from yesterday walked over to me. She looked me up and down, with a look of distrust, then turned to her friends and talked  to them about me as though I wasn't there.

'She is so far behind, I can't believe Galantia is depending on this girl to save us. She can't even run for 5 kilometres.' The blonde girl said to her friends and they all laughed.

'Yeah, Natasha you would be so much better than her,' one of the girls muttered.

'I know and hopefully Lorelei will realise this soon. How can the headmistress put her trust in this girl. She is just some human, that knows nothing about the way this world works. She is slowing us all down so soon she will be kicked out,' Natasha replied.

How rude can someone get, that was it I could not put up with her snarky comments anymore.

My anger started to rise up inside of me, to a point that I couldn't control it anymore.

 I turned around and faced her.  My fists were clenched tightly together but nothing could have stopped what was about to happen. 

All of a sudden,  an array of colours shot out from my ring and the force of this flung Natasha backwards into the air.  Her body hit the wall on the opposite side of the room and she landed in a heap on the floor.

The silence was deafening.

 Natasha must have been hit hard but she  somehow managed to get up. However I could see that she was unstable. 

Before I knew what was happening,  fire balls started flying in my direction, but I somehow dodged them.
It was pure instinct.

I then held up my hand again and waited for something to happen.

Natasha's eyes then flashed a deep red and both of our rings gave out a wave of power.
Somehow we both hit each other at the same  time and were thrown backwards and both landed on the floor with a loud thud.

The teacher, Rosaline stormed in and said immediately 'What is happening?'

We both looked up dazed after being thrown on the floor.

She looked at us said 'Go to the nurse's room now and then I will have a word with the both of you!'

I stood up, but winced in pain. The side of my rib cage was very painful. Stella rushed to help me. 

Theo went and helped Natasha. Typical the two good looking people always seem to end up together. She acted as though she was about to die, moaning, groaning and walking as slow as a snail.

  I leaned on Stella stumbled out of the room.

'What do you thing you were doing? You need to be at your best all the time,' Stella says.

'Look, I was fed up of being laughed at and I could't control my emotions anymore,' I replied in a quiet voice. 

'How did you even use your ring? Has someone taught you how to use it?' She asked me.

'I have no idea,' I said.

She looked at me with a strange expression as though she could't comprehend the fact that I could control my ring without any training.

'Is that not how you guys use your rings, you just use your emotions,' I asked her intrigued.

'No, we have had to train for years, since we were little children,' she said.

I was about to ask her, how it was possible that I used my ring, when we arrived at the nurse's room.

'Ok, I will leave you hear and don't cause anymore trouble,' smiling at me.

She placed me down on a bed and Natasha was placed down on the one next to me. 

Great now we are going to be hospital buddies.

Theo  then left Natasha but before he left he mouthed to me that was a'really stupid thing to do.'

Before I could reply he walked away.

I lay down on the bed with a huff and started straight ahead of me, not wanting to see the person who was in the bed next to me.

After a few minutes, a nurse came up to me with a beaming smile. How could someone be so happy.

'Hello, sweetie, what can I do for you?' She asked me.

I didn't know what to say as I had no idea what was wrong with me.

'Ok that's fine, if you don't want to tell me, I can just find out for myself,' she said.

I didn't know what she was taking about and before I could question it.

Her eyes falshed gold and a light gold light flashed out of her ring, and she hovered it over my body. After a few seconds she stopped and said 'you have a fractured wrist and two bruised ribs.'

'Wow you can do that using your ring,' I asked shocked.

'Yes and it has taken years of training,' she said smiling.

'Ok, now I know what is wrong with you, I can fix you up in two seconds, you are just going to have to stay very still,' she said.

This time an even brighter, bolder light was given off from her ring, it was so bright that I had to close my eyes.

'All done,' she said after about 30 seconds.

'All you need now is to rest for about two days,' she told me and then moved onto Natasha.

I sat up and all the pain had gone away. I stood up, thanked the nurse and left. 

From now on I would not let anyone distract me or let me lose control of my emotions.
