Chante's wedding dayC h a n t e
Friday, April 1stMy palms were sweaty, my heart was kicking and for the first time in a while I was speechless. Saying that I was nervous would be an understatement.
I was a complete jittering wreck.
"I think I wanna throw up. Why am I so nervous? I'm marrying my best friend!" I said trying to regulate my breathing.
"Girl why are you fretting?" Justine scolded as she looked for some music to play on her phone.
"Don't worry Tey, this is normal, but you gotta calm down." Yasmine said rubbing my arms as she fluffed my hair once more and smiled.
"Trust me, you won't be saying that when it's your time." Sabrina Claudio's soft voice flowed through the speakers. I managed to relax as I waited for my dress to be adjusted. Apparently I gained a little weight and it had to be taken out. "I feel like I'm gonna shit my skin fam." Yasmine laughed out and sat next to me. "Yeah laugh it out. I hope you know you're my maid of honor so you have to come hold my dress up while I wipe my ass." I joked trying to calm myself down.
"Uh uh, you on your own with that. I've got one baby already and that's enough."
"Don't you mean two?" I teased referring to Anthony. She blushed and fanned me off. "Uh huh. Yeah." I giggled going through my phone looking at pictures of Chris and I and with every picture I reassured myself that this is what I wanted.
Finally, the make up artist came in and beat my and Yasmines face to perfection as well as the bridesmaids. Then we all got dressed and ready to walk the aisle.
My mother entered the room along with Aunty Yola and they both began tearing up the minute they saw me.
"Ma!" I got up and ran into her arms.
