[ JEONGGUK sighs, picking at his nails out of boredom. he leans on the wall of the cafe, tapping on the plastic cover of his bubble tea. he scanned the room, softly smiling to whoever met his eyes. ]

JEONGGUK : [ mutters ] i don't like anybody here. [ sighs ] i'm leaving.

[ he hears a noise from the ceiling, and he looks outside the window. ]

JEONGGUK : ah. it's raining.

[ JEONGGUK pulls the hood of his gray hoodie over his black baseball hat, getting up from the seat. he pulls his black backpack up with him, not forgetting his unfinished drink. he also picks up two bags of groceries, in which he bought before making a quick visit to the cafe. ]

JEONGGUK : [ murmurs ] wait, i don't want to leave. it's raining, and— [ shakes head, clenches fists, shuts eyes, and whispers ] s-shut up. shut up. don't make a scene in public.

[ JEONGGUK opens his eyes, sighing as he shakes his head, blinking hard for a few times before looking around. when nobody seemed to take notice of his strange behavior, he sighed again in relief. he walks out of the door, thanking the cashier briefly. he catches the bus just in time, taking a seat near the front after his payment. JEONGGUK pulls out his phone and earphones from his backpack which is situated on his lap, plugging them into his ears and letting the music flow. he crosses his arms over his backpack, leaning forward. he rhythmically taps on his arm, looking outside towards the dark sky and rain. he gets up for his stop, gathering his belongings. ]

JEONGGUK : [ smiles towards the bus driver ] thanks, sir. have a great evening.

[ JEONGGUK steps off of the bus, humming to himself. he puts his phone in his pocket, walking peacefully in the rain. he approaches an apartment, pressing the 'up' button for the elevator. when it dings, he steps inside, pushing a button for the third floor. it reaches the third floor in a matter of seconds, and JEONGGUK rummages his backpack for the key to an apartment door. he feels the familiar object and wraps his hand around it. he pulls it out, pushing in the key and turning it, hearing the satisfactory 'click' before he pulls it back out and turns the knob. ]

JEONGGUK : i'm here, taehyung.

[ JEONGGUK drops off the bags of groceries in the kitchen, taking his wet backpack off and putting it on the couch in the living room. he yawns, pulling off his wet hoodie and throwing it next to his backpack. his eyes light up when he sees TAEHYUNG come out of his room. ]

JEONGGUK : [ smiles ] almost thought you didn't hear me.

TAEHYUNG : wish i hadn't. what brings you here, again?

JEONGGUK : just looking out for you. i brought you groceries. i know you don't like going out all that much. taehyung, i do this nearly every week. it should be a routine action by now.

TAEHYUNG : [ scoffs ] i don't need your protection, mister jeon. it's... just taking me a while.

JEONGGUK : whatever you say. if there's anything you need, just let me know. [ smiles ]

TAEHYUNG : right. [ sighs ] honestly, i don't think anything can help, knowing that my best friend turned against me and tried to kill me. yoongi was crazy—so crazy. i don't know why i even had an inch of trust in him. i just—i keep thinking about that day. when he—when he barged through the apartment i shared with my friend... and knocked us out... i can't forget it. when i woke up, i was holed up in my walk-in closet with a rope tied around my wrists. [ shakes head ] i don't even know what happened anymore. all i remember was that the place was a mess, and you—you came. you came and helped me out, a-and hoseok—he—he never showed. we lost contact. i wonder if he... [ snaps out of his stance ] s-sorry, you've probably been hearing this for the thousandth time now.
