Allegiance To The Moon

Allegiance to the moon
On the most tiring of days
Keeps you strong and undoubted
In the whispering winds that listen

Crater fall at black
Storm rally and Milky Ways known
A gleaming stone too far from heaven
And too far from home

Pledged to the night
You shall not falter
Murky thoughts at bay
Drowning seas left untouched at surface

Love the glow that bathes you
When you're lone and loathsome
And on you own

Love the coldness it brings you
The mystery
The stillness
The light at Winter's dusk

True moon's seduction
Lasts a fortnight or so
Lust for the end and beginning
Of a new horizon's throne

Let there be festivals of white
Fallen show from the deep space around
The comets you pray to
Have answered and paid their debts

Reel you in like a fish in a fire
Stuck to a silver pyre
Pure entropy surrounds
All that the moon has found

Allegiance to the moon has its costs
A life in darkness
All known forgotten
Starved of the joy of day
Thirsty for freedom

The waning waters of shadows melt you
Into precious gold
Of previous ownership
In stark pressed molds

Acknowledge the power of the opposite sky
Idolize the outer reaches of your mind
It is bright and full of wonder
Gaze and howl at its beauty

Eclipses in harmony
Soft peace in edges
Be loyal to the silver dust
Faithful to otherworldly invention

Villainy waits at dawn
A sun that fades the pale illumination
The illusions one held hidden
Are discovered by the day

Equal fate
Unaligned
Yet hold the same value
In broker's time

Drink gray stars that follow you
Your home in the universe
A kingdom in the clouds
Covered in a distance unmeasurable

The moon will try
Big tears of doom

Don't betray the moon
Please... I beg of you
