The Costume Shop

I tried on a new costume today,
But it was ill fitting,
And too expensive,
For the lack of change that jingled in my pocket,

It was blue,
Like my normal costume,
And although too pricy to consume,
It made me feel brand new,

Like a disappearing act,
It masked me and cloaked me,
And shrouded me from hate,
Like an umbrella to the rain,

I suppose I'll save some change next time,
To cover myself in foreign clothes,
Until none of me is visible,
Nor recognizable.
