When I look in the mirror.
I see the same face staring back at me,
Beckoning me to spend another day,
In mindless envy,
And longing for extinct adventures,

My reflection longs for freedom,
As much as I do,
And it prays to seep through the glass,
And into my departed vessel,
Inhabiting me once more,

But the future holds what I can't see,
And it forces me to breathe,
In the air that makes my lungs ache,
In anguish that I never knew,
Before my mirror knew it too,

And the secrets that I hide,
Are transparent to my other side,
And knowing of all I fear,
From the depths of my mind,
It knows my hell,

But I don't know my reflection well,
And I look different when I look in the mirror,
Distorted and deformed,
Like the grotesque monsters left stagnant,
In my double edged appearance.
