A traveler swims through marshes of smoke and hail,
The sun will rise over snow and sail,
A rover beckons flocks of stars to stay,
Life on Mars begins today,

A summery comet of nights and days,
Brings growth of tireless isles and bays,
Galaxies align fruitlessly in fright,
Aliens; personable and green alike,

Mounds of red dust devour all,
Mountains of stony husks grow tall,
Craters insinuate disaster and destiny,
Rockets parade in the pallor of entropy,

But, as the traveler knows, such place is inhabitable,
As manmade creation is easily eradicable,
And soon the moon will descend for dawn,
But, as the traveler knows, life must go on.
