Open Energy

A pool cascades from above,
It's cool,
It's quiet,
And it stills at the slightest sound,

But when the pool runs dry,
And my pristine homeland ceases,
A portal emerges,
And makes the calm waters anew,

And someday,
I assume,
My pool will wilt and turn to dust,
Atrophied at once,
And my sanctuary will become a wasteland,

But I want my pool to stay,
And flourish,
With immaculate marine beings,
That are one with my home,

But an open domain brings open danger,
And I do not have the energy to defend,
My stronghold so then,
I'll wilt away,

From water to land,
And skin to bone,
There is renewal in my decomposition,
Immortal life is within my hands,

My pool will swallow,
Mountains of gold,
And precious stones,
To resurrect me,

And silence will fill all around,

But for now,
My pool echos,
For us,
For them,
For all.
