The next day, Yu Ming had to go back to his family home to visit his parents and Xi Jun went to hang out with his online friends at a café. This left Jian Chen and An Lian alone in the dorm.

He seems to be concentrating on his computer right now, I wonder what he's doing? Lectures haven't started yet. An Lian thought to himself as he lay bored in his bed.

Jian Chen, once again feeling the stare of An Lian spoke up, "Bored?"

"Ah? Oh, no- well yes, but I was just thinking sorry I- "An Lian stuttered.

"Your stare is making me nervous, it's quite intense. What are you thinking about?" Jian Chen asked without looking up from his screen.

"Oh, nothing really." Feeling embarrassed for being caught staring again, An Lian decided to turn on his laptop.

From the corner of his eye he saw the icon for Red Dragon Quest and decided after a minute of contemplation to click on it.

He was brought to the familiar log in screen but before he clicked to play the male warrior he had created yesterday, he decided to create a new character.

This way I can try another class, anyway the other character will be for playing with Yu Ming and Xi Jun. I don't have to tell them about this character.

Having decided, An Lian created his new character and realised something.

I can only be a girl? Ah this must be one of the disadvantages to having a beta account. Well it's not too big of an issue... Xi Jun has a girl character he plays too.

After some customisation, An Lian had created a level one spirit master female named 'Little Flower', as the girl's appearance reminded him of a delicate flower.

An Lian had chosen the class of spirit master as he had seen Yu Ming play it yesterday. This class fights with 'spirits' that they summon, which to An Lian means he doesn't have to do any of the work. This class can also heal, which caught An Lian's attention.

I definitely won't die again!

Once An Lian was happy with his new character he logged into the world.

Just like yesterday he spawned in the starting village and proceeded to complete the beginning quests, this time having a bit more experience.

Although this didn't stop him from running right into the middle of the areas and getting mobbed by monsters and killed...

As An Lian was doing a quest which required him to go through a dungeon and defeat the boss to collect a quest item there was an outcry in the world chat.

World Chat

Feng Feng: Raging Storm!!!!! Don't come here just to PK!!! [ Player Kill ]

Xiao Chao: Hey! This is low level area why do you bully us?!

LuLu: Storm Ge ge, come help me with this quest! [ Ge -> brother / Oppa ]

Is there something going on...

Before An Lian could finish his thought, he made his way out of the dungeon toward the village and was faced with a grim sight.

Scattered in the street is a mass of skeletons [Dead players].

What happened here?

An Lian suddenly remembered that he recently learnt a new ability to revive and quickly walked to the nearest body to begin his spell.

Watching from a rooftop nearby was none other than Raging Storm, the cause of this commotion.

What is that little spirit master doing? Shouldn't she be running away... trying to revive the dead, ah it's really useless.

A second after the player Little Flower had revived got up they fell to the ground again.

What just happened? The spell failed?

But before An Lian could think about it anymore a high-level character came walking his way.

{Private message} Raging Storm: Why bring them back?

Little flower: Aren't they dead? I can revive, but I think it failed...

{Private message} Raging Storm: ......

Jian Chen frowned looking at his screen... This little one, doesn't she know who I am?

Suddenly Jian Chen smiled to himself, Maybe I can have some fun with this...

Little Flower: What happened here? I was just doing a quest in the dungeon.

{Private message} Raging Storm: Not sure, it was like this when I got here. Are you doing quests?

Little Flower: Yes. Need to go to sell some stuff now to clear bags.

{Private message} Raging Storm: Don't sell here. Go to other vendor. Follow me.

Raging Storm took Little Flower over to a vender across the small village to sell the items in her bag. The venders in this game sold and bought items at different prices. Since An Lian did not know this he carelessly had been selling his items for the lowest price.

LuLu: Storm ge~~ Where did you go?

Little Flower: Someone looking for you?

{Private message} Raging Storm: Don't know them. Talk private.

Figuring out how to talk to Raging Storm privately, An Lian messaged Raging Storm.

{Private message} Little Flower: Storm, what are you doing now?

{Private message} Raging Storm: Do you have quests to do? I'll help.

After some hesitation, An Lian agreed and the two set off to do low level starting quests. An Lian wondered why someone level 100 would want to help someone under level ten... But simply thought this person was doing it out of goodwill after watching him (An Lian) struggle.

Once An Lian finally finished the starting area and became level ten he was ready to advance to the next area on the continent. As the starting village was on a mountain they had to take a large bird looking mount down to the base.

The flight took some time as it flew around the continent to show off the higher-level areas on this continent.

Xi Jun had told An Lian yesterday that this continent only goes to level thirty. So, if a player wants to advance further they would need to buy the subscription.

While waiting for the bird to land, An Lian decided play around with the icons on his screen.

He opened one tab which showed him the world rankings and skimmed through the list of unfamiliar names until...

Raging Storm... Number one on the server? It can't be the same...right?

{Privatemessage} Little Flower:You're number one in the server?
