I have been wanting to do this for a while, so here it goes! Enjoy!
After the talk with Hunk at the start of Voltron, Lance did not think he would ever be getting back to Earth, much less Gotham, home of Batman and Robin. He grew up with these two characters, so it was a little weird to be standing in front of them. Batman, he noticed, was just a stricter version of Shiro, and Robin was just a younger and male version of Pidge. Robin had been quiet through the whole interaction, crossed arms and head resting on his chest
"So, you guys protect the universe?" Robin's voice was smooth and slightly accented, a nice thing to listen to. Shiro smiled at the kid, nodding his head.
"Yeah, it's basically the same thing you do, except in space." Shiro responded, one finger pointed towards the stars. Robin, smirked and nodded. Batman placed a single hand on his shoulder squeezing it tightly.
"If you would follow us, I have a place for you to stay." Robin looked up in exclamation, ready to protest to such orders. They just met these people, how could they trust them?
"But Batman, we just met them. It seems unrealistic to show them when we just met them. Are you sure that's a good idea." The kid looked ready to bolt and leave them in the dust, his gaze hard on Robin's face.
"I know Shiro from past experiences. Plus, They've all read the comics. They already know who we are, even you Damian." Damian seemed to scowl and cross his arms tighter around himself. He turned, mumbling a quick "no first names on patrol" before jumping from the roof and making his way home. Batman sent a small smile to Shiro before beckoning them forward. "He get's like that sometimes. Follow me." And then Batman was gone too, Team Voltron following behind him.
The bat cave was something only geeks dreamed of being in, Lance included. The whole team was looking around in wonder and amazement, while Batman and Robin changed out of their suits. Robin, Damian he should say, was exactly how the comic books described him, young but intimidating. He carried himself with squared shoulders and straight back, carrying himself like someone who was raised for war. Which he was, in a way.
"So, father how do you know Shiro?" Bruce looked at Shiro for a second, then back to his son.
"A business trip a few years ago, he was the friend of an ambassador." Bruce replied, suit changed into a t-shirt and sweat pants.
"And how many bonding moments did you to have that you trusted him enough to reveal your identity." Damian's eye-brow was raised suggestively and Keith just couldn't help burst out laughing, followed by Lance, then Hunk and finally Pidge. Bruce and Shiro were very unamused, Bruce sending a glare to his smirking son while Shiro sent a glare to his team.
"I got severely injured, Shiro was there and he patched me up. End of story. Don't give me that look, nothing happened." It was clear that something else definitely happened, but no one furthered the conversation. Suddenly, a weird crackling video came on the bat-computer's screen. It focused out into the Joker's face a big red grin decorating it.
"Batsy! I know your there, even if I can't see you. What's more important is that little bird brain is there, he is who so want to talk to." Bruce, upon hearing that sentence, stepped in front of his son defensively. Joker took a small step back from the camera, a chair now visible behind him. Tied to it was a boy, the same age as Pidge, with fiery red hair and a dusting of freckles. His eyes trailed the camera lens, silenced by a piece of duct tape. "Little Colin here was so innocently strolling in the park, such a lovesick expression on his face. Maybe it was from the quick make-out session with little Birdy there." Joker's smile and voice was teasing and mocking, eyes alight with mischief. As if a switch was flicked, it turned cold and serious. "Robin, I want you alone by the ducks in the west side of Gotham. It's you for the boy. Eighteen hours before he'll be thrown in the water with bricks tied to his arms and legs." And the video switched off, Joker's taunting smile the last visible aspect of the video. As soon as it was over, Damian was half way over to his costume Bruce just managing to catch his shoulder before he could get to his suit.
"Let me go!"
"You will not rush into this, all of us will harbor a plan to get Colin back and make sure we don't leave you in the process. Go sit at the computer and track the video. Go." Damian left without another word to the computer, plopping himself down and moving his hands as fast he could. Bruce motioned for the rest of the them to come to him.
"Damian will find any way to get Colin back, including handing himself over. We need to get this kid back. Joker will have my kid of my dead body. Two people stay down here and help him, the rest of you follow me." Shiro nodded, pointing at Lance and Pidge.
"You two stay here. Watch him. Let's go Bruce." With that Bruce, Shiro and Hunk left leaving the blue and yellow paladins with Damian.
"How-"
"Read me all of the places Joker has been and what locations he's expected to be. This file here. Catch." Damian blindly threw a file behind him, Lance catching it an instantly beginning to read off the places. Pidge took the chair beside Damian watching his hands speed across the keyboard.
"How do you do that?" Pidge asked, head tilted slightly, hands adjusting the glasses on the green paladins face.
"I have three brothers who make it their mission to constantly annoy and distract me, plus I've been trained to hack and track any video in less than a minute. There. McClain, you can stop. Thank you for the help. Now, if you don't mind I'll be going. Do tell my father that I have gone by myself." As he talks he's already slipping on his suit and stashing weapons in his belt.
"Now wait on minute kid, your dad said that your are not going alone. We know that he's important to you, but you have to wait- and he's gone." Lance sighs and shares a look with Pidge before running up the stairs. "Hey Bruce! We have a slight problem!"Guess who fell down the stairs yesterday and broke their middle finger? Me. I am the most clumsy person and I have broken two bones from tripping and falling. My dad doesn't want me to walk up stairs anymore, he says that my step brother who's not even two is more graceful than me. He's not wrong. Also, I'm wearing a splint so it looks like I'm giving every the finger all of the time. Help. Anyway, suggestions are wanted and appreciated. Keep it PG to PG-13 and NO SMUTT!! Ciao!
P.S I have a broken finger, I'm not going to be editing. Plus, I'm bruised just about everywhere so I'm in agonizing pain. Not very suitable editing conditions.
