The next day, while marching, I spotted the Illefarn Trail and we were able to double our marching pace all the way to Applewood, where we found lodging at the Apple Cobbler Inn. The next morning, rested and fed, we marched to Eisenwier and then on to Waterdeep a day later, never realizing in our exhaustion that we had wandered through what is currently deadly territory for mercenaries, the eastern edge of the wilderness, where goblin activity has increased and so many sellswords have recently and mysteriously disappeared.

And so we are safely back home in Waterdeep, never having raised a weapon, surviving entirely on the sharpness of our abilities rather than the sharpness of our weapons' iron.

The 1021 Almanac is now in the hands of Rue, and two parties await its delivery. For the next two tendays, Rue and Jolly will work to create an excellent forgery so as to satisfy the tome's extraordinary demand. Until then, I need no longer dream when I sleep, for I feel as though I have just lived a lifetime of hallucination.

And I must remember to retrieve my rope...
