Our alarms went off at 5 and we got dressed. I grabbed my bag and Brad grabbed his and Duke's leash. Brad drove us to North Carolina Hospital and parked. We went in and the nurse took me back. I was hooked up to everything and then sat in the waiting bay. With the mild sedative they gave me I fell asleep until I was woken up by Dr. Sloan.
Sloan: good morning you two
Brad: good morning
Sloan: well we're ready to go so I will see you in there
I was moved to the OR and then went back to sleep.
*Brad: I'm sure you're asleep but she just went in for surgery
Hope: I'm up, thank you for letting me know
Brad: of course. I'll send you another update when she comes out
Hope: alright thank you
An hour later I was wheeled back into my room.
Sloan: Everything went well, her plates looked good and the tendon is back where it should be
Brad: thank you
Sloan: of course, well I have a plane to catch
Brad: tell my parents we say hey
Sloan: I will, and it was good to see you two
Brad: you too Doctor Sloan
In about 30 minutes, I started waking up
Me: mm
Brad: hey baby, everything went well and you're all good
Me: oh yay, can we go home
Brad: not yet but soon
Me: ugh
Brad: I know
I was discharged after another hour and Brad drove us home. Brad carried me up the stairs and then put me in my bed.
Me: come lay with me
Brad: let me go get your bag first and then I will
Me: okay
Brad came back in and laid down with me. Both of us fell asleep until Kiley and Justin came in at 12.
Kiley: hey, how are you feeling?
Me: tired and hungry
Justin: well we brought you tacos
Me: yes
Brad: well let's eat and then Hope wanted you to call her
Me: okay
We all ate and talked for a bit and then Kiley and Justin went to class. I call Hope while Brad took Duke for a run.
Hope: hey how are you feeling?
Me: pretty good, just a little sore
Hope: have you eaten?
Me: yup just did, Kiley and Justin brought tacos
Hope: good, have you talked to Anson yet?
Me: no I haven't had time
Hope: alright, just wondering
Me: how's training
Hope: pretty intense sense its playoffs this weekend
Me: oh yeah, don't you play Chicago?
Hope: yup
Me: well I have class work to do so I'll talk to you tomorrow
Hope: alright bye SB
Me: bye mama
As I hung up, Brad and Duke came back in.
Me: good run?
Brad: yeah, we did 4 miles
Me: oh good, are you going to chem
Brad: it's what in two hours?
Me: yup
Brad: yeah, and I'll sign you in so you can get the points
Me: alright thank you
Brad: do you want to finish Grey's?
Me: definitely
Brad and I watched Grey's Anatomy until he had to go. Duke took his spot beside me and I realized it was his second birthday.
To Duke, my right-hand man, my most loyal follower, and my child. Happy 2nd Birthday!
I posted a couple of pictures with that on Twitter and Instagram. Brad came back at 7 with dinner and the two of us ate before putting in a movie. Brad and I got ready for bed and ended up falling asleep around 11.
