The first thing I see when I wake up is the color red. Then I hear a chicken cluck and a cow moo. I sit up instantly, my seatbelt literally snapping me back into place on the reclined car seat. I glance over to my left to see Mason is no longer in the driving seat of his Jeep. Last I remember, Mason woke me up extremely early and said he had a day planned out for us. I got ready according to the weather but seeing where I am, I figure it's not the best. Some black jeans and an old sweatshirt that I got when I was in ninth grade and some tennis shoes. Slowly, I unhook myself from the seatbelt and slide out of the Jeep after locking the door. Luckily, I spy Masons familiar back as he talks to a short guy.

When I reach them, Mason addresses me. "Hey, Ken. I didn't want to wake you just yet." I take in his words in a daze and look around, still tired.

    "Yeah. Where are we?"

"You're at the Johnsin Central! Welcome!"

I smile at the guy's happy voice and nod. Mason wraps an arm around my shoulders and tugs me close. I place my hand on his chest.

    "What exactly is Johnsin Central?"

"A place where dreams come true," the guy says in front of me. I snort as he laughs a loud laugh. "Just kidding. You're ridin' some horses today, girl!" The guy sounds excited. Mason nods at my side when I look up at him. "My name is Ricky. "

"Nice to meet you, Ricky. I'm Kenna."

"Howdy, Kenna!" Ricky then motions Mason and me to follow him as he walks off the farmhouse deck. Mason and I trail after him, Masons arm still wrapped around my shoulders.

"I can't ride horses," I look up at Mason. He looks down at me, cool as ever.

"Sure you can. All you need to know is to pull back on the reins when trying to make them stop."

    "Reins?"

"Yeah. They connect to the bridle."

"Bridle?!" I stare at him, wide-eyed, not recognizing any of these terms. Mason just sighs and says Ricky will help me figure it out and he will be with me the whole time. Ricky walks ahead of us, pausing when he slides open the red barns doors. As soon as he opens it, the smell of pure manure runs into my nose. I almost cough but hold it in. There's a reason Mason took me to a barn, maybe he loves horses. I don't want to accidentally make him offended if I cough at the smell. When I look up at Mason, he is staring into the barn with a small smile. Ricky turns around for us to follow. We do, and when he stops, he motions to a big black horse. Mason instantly walks toward it. Ricky introduces him.

"Um, he's one of our wilder horses. Due to him being only about three years old."

"Oh," Mason nods. He reaches forward, letting the horse slides its muzzle into his hand. Mason lets out the biggest grin I have ever seen, even when he sees me. Like literally, this smile is almost breaking his face, ear-to-ear.
