I closed the door of the avengers tower behind me, and looked around. No one was around. Thank god.

I walked into my room, closing and locking the door behind me, collapsing onto my bed, on the verge of a mental breakdown.

I stood back up and threw all my work stuff to the other side of my room since I couldn't be bothered to walk over to my desk and put it down. Besides, throwing shit is much more fun and I feel like I needed to throw something.

I was part of the avengers but I had a part time job as a waitress at a cafe to get money and it was the worst job I've ever had and to say it stressed me out would be an understatement.

I changed into something comfortable and lied down on my bed, ready to sleep for the entire weekend but I was interrupted by a knock on the door. I groaned before getting up and unlocking the door, opening it to Steve. "Oh hey y/n" steve smiled. "You're acting as if you didn't just purposely knock on my door" I said, playfully. "Well I- it's just- oh shut up" Steve replied, crossing his arms and leaning against the doorframe. I giggled at his reaction before speaking, "what do you need?" "Oh nothing. I just haven't seen you all day. I just wanted to check up on you" Steve smiled innocently. "Oh ok. Thank you. I'm all good" I lied, hoping Steve wouldn't take notice since I'm horrible at lying to friends, "how are you?" "I'm great but you're not. We both know you can't lie for shit" Steve said, his expression changing to something more serious. "I'm fine Steve. Work is just a pain in the ass" I smiled at him reassuringly. "If you need anything, I'm always here" Steve said. I nodded my head and smiled. Steve returned the smile and turned, starting to walk away until I remembered something. "Wait, steve!" I called out, walking up behind him. He turned back around to look at me. "When's Bucky gonna be back?" I asked as steve smiled slightly. "He should be home before dinner" steve replied, smiling once more before continuing down the hall. I smiled to myself and walked back to my room, slightly happier then I was before.

I was laying in bed, looking at stuff on my phone until someone knocked on the door. Expecting it was Bucky, I practically jumped off the bed and ran to the door, opening it with a huge smile on my face but instead of Bucky, Natasha was there, looking at me confused. "Oh" I said, my face dropping slightly. "What do you mean "oh"?" Natasha asked, acting offended. "Sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out like that," I laughed "I was expecting someone else" "oh ok, well dinners ready" Nat said before turning on her heel and walking back down the hall.

I grabbed my phone and went downstairs and was nearly blown off the ground from the sound coming from the dining room. That much noise only meant one thing, everyone was home. I walked into the dining room, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me. "Oh she is alive" Clint said before going back to his dinner. "He said that cause we all thought you were dead because-" peter started but I cut him off. "I know. Thank you peter" I smiled, peter returned the smile before turning back to his dinner as well. By this time everyone had gone back to what they were previously doing. I scanned the room, looking for Bucky but didn't see him which made me worry. He was always home for dinner.

I took a seat next to Wanda and took some of what was left of dinner. I stayed pretty quiet during dinner, getting anxious as to why Bucky wasn't home yet. Wanda must've noticed since she looked at me and gave me a little hug. "He'll be home soon. Don't worry" she smiled. I just smiled back, hoping nothing bad had happened. I finished dinner, not saying much the whole time and went back to my room and my phone, waiting for Bucky to get home.

3 hours had passed and I was sick of waiting for Bucky to get home. I went downstairs to find steve or tony but found both of them, sitting on the couch, watching tv. I walked in front of the tv, catching their attention. "Yes y/n?" Tony said, trying to look around me so he could see the tv. "Where's Bucky? Steve said he'd be home for dinner. It's been almost 4 hours since dinner and he isn't home" I said, looking between them. They glanced at each other and back at me which made me worry more. "Where is he Tony?" I asked stubbornly. "I... I don't know" tony answered quietly. "What do you mean you don't know?" I said, my anxiety starting to get the better of me. "He hasn't checked in for six hours. We don't know where he is" tony answered, a hint of guilt in his voice. I looked at steve who looked anywhere but me. "Steve, what's happening?" I asked him, trying my hardest not to cry. "Y/n. We told you already. We don't know" steve said, still not looking at me.

That did it. I started crying and collapsed on the floor. My vision went blurry and everything sounded muffled. I started losing my breath and got choked up with tears and trying to breathe. I felt myself being picked up but couldn't see or hear who it was. What I thought to be minutes later, I still couldn't hear, see or breathe properly.

I could hear only one thing now. A voice but I didn't know who it belonged to "Y/n. Focus on my voice" I heard and tried to clear my hearing and vision and regulate my breathing. I could still hear a voice but I was too busy trying to focus on other things until I heard something. "It's Bucky. I'm home and safe ok?" "Come on doll, I need you to look at me" Bucky. It was Bucky. He was home.

The slight buzzing in my head started to slowly stop, along with my vision slowly going back to normal. After a while everything cleared up and I could hear. I opened my eyes to be met with a very worried Bucky. Once he saw my eyes were open he pulled me into him, hugging me tightly. I hugged him back, burying my head in his neck.

I pulled away, scanning his face. "You're home" I said, reassuring myself more then anything. "Yeah I am. Are you ok?" Bucky asked me, tucking some hair behind my ear. "You were gone for so long today and I started to get really worried so I asked Tony and Steve where you were and they didn't know and my anxiety got the better of me" I said, looking up at Bucky. Bucky didn't answer, just smiled slightly and kissed my head, pulling me back into a hug which I gladly took.

"Home is wherever you are, doll"
