"Wanda this is ridiculous! You don't have to be right all the time!"

You and Wanda were shoulders deep in an argument. It was you and Wanda's 3 year anniversary. You knew it was today because you had written down the date of when the two of you started dating. Wanda thought differently. She was convinced it was next week, claiming you must have written down the wrong date.

"Y/n, you wrote the date wrong! Just accept the fact that you wrote the date wrong!"

Through the 3 years of your relationship, you had had your fair share of arguments but none of them were as bad as this. Usually, one of you start yelling, the other realises their mistake and apologises as quickly as possible. Neither of you were fighters. This argument however, you had been yelling for a while. You knew because your throat was starting to feel dry.

Both of you knew this argument was bad but neither of you cared to stop it because both of you were convinced your answers were right.

As you got deeper into the argument, you started to really think about what was happening. There were vases and glass with cracks and some smashed. Some pieces of furniture were floating with a red aura around them. There was quite a big storm happening outside, rain pelting hard against your window, lightning ripping through the sky - a result of your power and what happened when you got frustrated.

Wanda continued yelling as you thought deeper. You couldn't handle this argument anymore. Your emotions were raging but you didn't know what exact emotions. You looked at Wanda and saw the intense anger on her face. You had to leave.

"I - I can't do this anymore"

You spoke quietly yet loud enough for Wanda to hear you speaking but not know what you were saying. It wasn't on purpose, it just happened.

"Speak up, for gods sake. I want to hear you acknowledge you're wrong"

Wanda felt a lot of anger but that was just covering up the underlying sadness she felt. Deep down, she didn't want to continue this argument but that wasn't what her mind was telling her, more so what she was telling herself.

"I can't do this anymore. I'm leaving"

You spoke loud and clear. You knew Wanda had heard from the sudden change of emotion in her face.

"What? You're leaving me?"

Now she felt a sudden heartbreak, that underlying sadness wasn't so underlying anymore.

"I don't know at the moment. I - i just need some time. Away. From everything"

The furniture that was floating landed back on the floor with a soft thud and the storm outside started to die down. Wanda looked at you with a hint of disbelief. You didn't exactly know what you were going to do. You just needed a break.

You kept your gaze on the floor as you walked up to Wanda. You kissed her cheek lightly before continuing to walk towards the door.

Wanda watched you leave, guilt and loneliness filling her. She hadn't been alone in a very long time and now she was, she didn't know what to do.

Shielding your head with your jacket, you ran through the light rain to your car. You got in your car, started the engine and drove.

After a while of driving, you found yourself heading in the direction of the airport. You don't know how you ended up going this way but you decided to go to the airport anyway. You looked at the flights leaving in the next hour or two and saw a lot of good options but you chose the flight to Romania. Your grandparents lived in Romania. You texted them quite a lot but hadn't seen them since you were young.

You had nothing. No clothes, no bag, nothing but your phone, wallet and keys which was really all you needed. You could buy clothes and your phone was on 86%. You walked through security and to your gate.

As you sat on the floor, next to the window of your gate, your phone started ringing. You looked at the caller id and saw it was Wanda. The call that you ignored was followed by a string of texts which you also ignored. Why did you ignore them? You didn't know.

Some time passed and you were now boarding the plane. You found your seat and sat down, closing your eyes and waiting for the plane to take off.

Once you were in the air, you realised you had the entire row to yourself. You moved to the window seat and watched the city below you disappear as the plane ascended into the clouds.

Fight or flight?

You chose flight.
