I shook my head of my thoughts, what I saw flash through my mind leaving me confused. Instead of heading home, even though I knew my father would be worried about me, I decided to take a walk to clear my head. 'I need to find out what it is that I saw. I could ask my father about it, but somehow, I believe he wouldn't want to talk about it. Especially when it looked as if Jacob was the one I saw, though I'm not completely sure.' I became so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even realise that I ran into one of my father's men.

"Ah, Miss. Starrick, what brings you here?" He said.

"I was just taking a stroll, though I hadn't realised that I got so deep in thought and ended up here." I said.

"Not exactly safe around here madam, your father must be worried."

"I do believe I should be getting home now, mind if you lads could point me the way?"

"I'll take you can if you like."

"I wouldn't want to trouble you sir."

"It's the least I can do, especially with them assassins around." His words stopped me in my tracks.

"Assassins?" I asked with a confused voice for I have never heard of the likes here in London.

"You don't know?"

"Not at all. I wasn't informed of any assassins here in London."

"It's why your father wants you safe. He fears that these assassins may come after you, all he wants is for you to be safe." For some reason, I wanted to know more about these assassins that I couldn't help but ask,

"Do you know who these assassins are?"

"I believe their names are Jacob and Evie Frye, twin assassins who clearly don't stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Be better if they weren't here in London." His last few words were softly spoken, but I still managed to hear him. I was about to say something, when my head started to hurt again. I closed my eyes, gritted my teeth and clutched my head.

Flashback

"Don't worry, you'll meet her soon." As he spoke, I made my way, very quietly, behind the twins, waiting for the right time to make my presence known.

"At least we have more help now." I decided that now would be the time to introduce myself.

"That you do." The twins jumped at the sound of my voice and turned around.

"How long have you been standing there?" Jacob said as he placed a hand on his chest.

"More like how did we not notice you were there?" An unfamiliar, yet familiar, girl asked.

End of flashback

"Miss Starrick are you alright?" I heard once the pain passed.

"Oh, of course. Sorry about that, it was just a mere headache is all. So, shall we be heading off?" Was all I said before they begin escorting me back to my father's home. 'Another flashback? What is going on?' Was all I thought as we walked.

Jacob's POV

After walking away from the business with that woman with a sniper, as well as feeling as if someone was watching me but thinking nothing of it, I found myself atop a tower. I looked down and observed as Mr. Disraeli and his wife, Mrs. Disraeli, leave their house at 10 Downing Street and enter the carriage.

"So much for the house call. I'll have to find a way into the carriage." I mumble out as they just had to be leaving their home when there is to be an attack on them. "Well, looks like I'll just have to sneak into their carriage. Why does it feel like that's all I've been doing lately? Bloody hell, I hope I'm not adapting dear sister's way of things." I merely shook my head and made my way to the carriage.

"What is the meaning of this? Who the devil are you?" Mr. Disraeli says the moment I enter the carriage.

"Prime Minister, I'm your new bodyguard. Jacob Frye-" I begin to say, only to get cut off.

"I wasn't informed of any new bodyguard. Who is your commanding officer?"

"Let the boy speak, Dizzy." His wife says as she sends me a small smile.

"Madam. Apologies, but we've learned of a threat on your life, and the Met thought it best to move quickly." I say and hope they believe my lie about the Met. I'm not wrong about the threat on his life, just who 'assigned' me to protect the Prime Minister.

"Threat? What sort of threat?" Mr. Disraeli says. Before I could answer, the sound of gunshots could be heard from outside the carriage.

"That sort. And if you'll excuse me a moment." Was all I said before leaving the carriage. I was meant with quite a few Blighters surrounding the carriage, as well as a few atop the building holding snipers. 'Finally, some action.' I thought as I ran at those who dare come close to the carriage. With my kukri at my side, I charged in. I threw my kukri at one of the Blighters, impaling it into his throat as I used my hidden blades to slice the throat of another. I quickly pulled out my throwing knives and threw them at the snipers who sat atop the building, hitting each one of them and watches as they dropped to the ground.

"See here, what's all this-" Mr. Disraeli says, only to hear another voice cut him off.

"Not so fast, Your Excellency." One of the Blighters says. Just as I finished off the last remaining Blighters who were surrounding the carriage, I looked behind me and saw one of the thugs, who must've snuck by me, drive the carriage away with both the Prime Minister and his wife.

"Oi! Get back here with that...Prime Minister!" I yell out. Wasting no time, I jumped aboard another carriage that just so happened to be around and raced after the carriage. It wasn't long before I finally caught up and pulled out a throwing knife, throwing right into the thug's skull and then jumped onto the carriage and drove it back to the house.

"Everyone all right?" I ask as we head on back.

"We seem to have come through unscathed. You have our thanks, Mr. Frye." Mrs. Disraeli says.

"It was Gladstone, I bet my life on it. This is perfectly in keeping with his lack of character. Show yourself, Gladstone! Show yourself, you feckless muck-snipe!" Mr. Disraeli says.

"Well, he's hardly going to be in the van with a cudgel, Dizzy." It wasn't long before we finally arrived back.

"Damn Gladstone! That bloody man! He will pay!" Mr. Disraeli says as he got out of the carriage. I walked on over and helped Mrs. Disraeli out of the carriage.

"Thank you. What do you intend to do about Gladstone, young man?" She says.

"I assure you, madam, Gladstone is innocent in this." I reply.

"But he tried to kill my husband."

"Well, we'll look into Gladstone. Perhaps you can help me in another inquiry, madam. A gentleman with ties to parliament. Older, wears cavalry uniforms and has a large moustache?"

"You seem like a rough and ready sort of fellow, Mr. Frye."

"Well...yes. I am, actually." I couldn't help but sound a little smug. What? She's not wrong about the rough and ready sort of fellow.

"And are you familiar with the poorer districts of our city?"

"Roughly."

"Wonderful! As it happens, I've been eager to tour Devil's Acre. If you were to escort me, I'd be happy to assist you in your inquiry."

"That strikes me as a dangerous idea."

"Then it's settled. Come back here to Downing Street tomorrow night, eight o'clock sharp. Good day, Mr. Frye."

"But, I-"

"Good day, Mr. Frye." Before I could say anything, she walked off. All I could do was stand there in confusion, wondering what just happened.
