Jacob's POV

I sat in the Gladstone's carriage that I had 'borrowed' for the evening with Freddy beside me, dressed in his Royal Guard uniform. It was silent as we made our way to where my sister would be waiting for us to arrive and pick her up for the ball. During the silence, I couldn't help but let my thoughts wonder to (Name). 'I do hope I see her at the ball tonight. Bloody hell I miss that girl, I never thought I would this much, but she's been running through my mind since I last saw her. What I don't understand though is why she couldn't stay, and why she was with the Blighters when I found her. Strange thing is that they weren't attacking her. Something is going on, and I bet it has something to do with her losing her memories. But what happened exactly? I have no answers to that.' I let out a sigh as my head begins to hurt thinking up any possible answer. I must've been thinking for a while as I noticed we had now reached where Evie was waiting.

"Miss Frye." Abberline said as we exited the carriage.

"Hand him your weapons. We must enter unarmed." I said. She then gestured to the bag that appears to have all the equipment, then we both entered the carriage and made our way to Buckingham Palace.

"Penny for your thoughts, brother? You seem awfully quiet this evening." Evie said not long after entering the carriage.

"Nothing at all, dear sister." I replied, not wanting to talk about it. It wasn't long before we arrived at our destination, where a Royal Guard checked our invitations and saw us in the carriage.

"Go on in, sir and madam." The guard said. I glanced out the window and saw that the carriage drove past the Gladstone's, who were standing at the gate and seem to be missing something.

"What in the blazes is our carriage doing here?" I heard Mr. Gladstone say as we arrived at the entrance to the palace.

"Did I hear something?" I said.

"No. Just the voices in your own head." Evie replied.

"And yet they are so much more pleasant than yours."

"Charming."

"Aren't I?" Nothing much else was said as we walked to the outdoor ballroom. My eyes wondered around the moment we did, people were dancing, mingling with one another, having a grand old time with one another.

"I shall go and find the Piece of Eden." Evie said not long after.

"As you wish, I am off to meet Freddy." With that said, we went out separate ways. Just as I was making my way to the rooftop, I caught a glimpse of someone very familiar. '(Name)?' I thought, and I couldn't help but stop in my tracks. It was as if whatever breath I had left my lungs completely vanished for she looked absolutely stunning this evening.

My eyes were glued to her, I couldn't look away

My eyes were glued to her, I couldn't look away. She walked with such elegant and grace that one would never think of her as an assassin. 'Had she always had such grace when she walked? She looks as if she belongs at one of these parties, fits in well with the people attending. If I hadn't known her as well as I do, I wouldn't even begin to think that she lives the assassin life.' I thought as I willed myself to move and make my way over to her. 'I know that I am meant to be meeting up with Freddy, but I must see her. I can't just notice her and be on my way. Bloody hell, what has this woman done to me?' I thought as I walked on over to her. As soon as I approached her, I gently grabbed her hand, capturing her attention. She let out a small gasp before seeing that it was me.
