Chapter 5

Joel's POV

It was a regular Monday morning. I woke up took a quick shower and went down for breakfast.

Joel: Good morning, Ma! -I said while kissing her on the cheek.-

Mom: Buenos días, Mijo!

I said good morning to everyone and grabbed a piece of toast with peanut butter and headed out the door.

Mom: You are not gonna stay for breakfast?

Joel: No, Ma! Sorry! Se me va hacer tarde. -I yell while running out the door.

Mom: okay! Que te vaya bien, Mijo!

I got on the car and left to school. I thought I was running late so I ran and bumped into Chris.

Chris: Wow, hermano cálmate que casi me atropellas!

Joel: Sorry Chris I though I was gonna be late. I think my watch is broken!

Chris: Well por eso tenemos this things called phones! You know you turn it on and it tells you the time! -he said with a smirk on his face-

Joel: Yea I know it's just that's it's in my backpack! -I said laughing-

Christopher Velez and I have been friends since middle school. Him, Erick, Richard and Yoandri come to my house a lot. Mainly to steal my food. Richard and Christopher are a year older than me, Yoyo, and Erick. We are sophomores and they are Juniors. They don't care about what others say about hanging with Sophomores. We are like brothers. Not like other guys who make a face every time a sophomore walks in the Juniors hallways. Christopher is the most sarcastic so he always know how to make me laugh and if he laughs well I laugh. His laugh is too contagious!

Joel: Let's go in. I don't actually want to be late.

He then followed me to my locker to get some of my books when I see a new guy. He was tall and well in this school we don't get many new students so everyone was staring at him. Behind him was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen! She was quite and not walking like she owned the place like many girls in this school do. She definitely caught my eye. After they went into the office everyone went back to doing their thing and I went to class.

Chris: Bueno mi hermano! Te veo al rato, alright?

Joel: Alright bye!

I went to class and sat down on my regular sit. I turned to Veronica and we were talking about a party this weekend.

Veronica: So who are you gonna take?

Joel: I don't know yet. Who are you gonna go with?

Veronica: No one has asked me yet.

Joel: I think Chris has been meaning to. - I said with a playful smile-

Veronica: Shut up Pimentel! - she rolled her eyes at me and I just laughed-

Veronica has had the biggest crush on Christopher since my 14th birthday party. I love Veronica in a friend way. She is so much like Chris and can always make you laugh in a matter of a second! I know I can talk to her about anything! We've been close like brother and sister since we were kids. She is the only girl I can have in my room and my mom would've suspect us having anything. She's just that type of friend.

I heard the door open and Erick was talking to the teacher. I just went back to doing my work until I heard a girl's voice I definitely haven't heard before and look up. It was that same girl I saw in the hall!

She walked over and sat right in front of me. I had to introduce myself. So I did. When I told her my name she didn't say anything. She was very shy and I saw something in her eyes. Like a mix of pain, depression and that sparkle that tells you she is the one. That beneath all that there is a very special person. I know you would wonder how I got all this from just looking at her eyes but I could just tell. It's something I've never felt and seen before.

Then Veronica being well.. Veronica, jumped in. They started talking and cut me off completely. She asked Samantha is they could trade sits so now she was sitting next to her. I couldn't help but stare at her. I was so curious!

The class ended and I went to my second class. Turns out that the new boy was Lizeth's brother and he was sitting next to me in Algebra. His name is Zabdiel and we actually had a lot in common. We both loved to sing and liked soccer. It wasn't that long before we became friends.

When lunch was here I introduced him to the guys.

Joel: Zabdiel, this is Richard, Yoandri also known as Yoyo, Christopher, Erick, Johann and Jaime.

Zabdiel: Hey! - He said shaking all the guy's hands. -

We started to talk and everyone liked Zabdiel as soon as he started to talk about himself. Turns out we all have so much in common.

Johann: Look those girls are looking at you Zab! Well all except her.

Joel: That's Lizeth right? Your sister?

Then they all just looked at me weirdly in a how do you know that type a way.

Joel: What? I have two clases with her!

They all just smirked and said "yea right".

Then Zabdiel has the idea of going over there so we did. I couldn't stop thinking about her. When he finished talking we just went back. But I wanted to go back and talk to her!

Joel: Hey, I'll be back. - I told the guys and headed Lizeth's way-

I want to introduce myself and this is a good excuse to talk to her and get to know her. So I asked her if we could talk and took her out in the hall. I Introduced myself and she did as well. We ended up talking a while. I asked... well... I didn't ask but I said I would be calling her Liz from now on. I just liked the short cut and she said she would call me Joelito. I agreed to that, I guess. She said her brother is the only one who calls her that so I kinda felt special. Lunch was over. I didn't want to move. I could sit here and talk for her for hours and in fact I wanted to. There is so much more I want to know about her. With a disappointed tone I said goodbye to her and went back in with the guys.

It turns out that Zabdiel is gonna join the soccer team. Well at least we are hoping.

The day then went by pretty fast. And soccer practice was here. I went to change then outside to start the warm ups. The coach was getting Zabdiel settled in when I see Liz coming out looking so pretty like always. She looked like she was ready to kick some ass! The girls alway start first. We are a little slower in setting up and on the warm ups so they alway make fun of us. I was talking to the guys and the girl's coach blew the whistle.

Jaime: Hey let's watch the game while we wait for the coach.

So then we did and I got to admit the girls are so good. They had an undefeated season last year. All of a sudden Liz had the ball. Then Jessie popped up and she played her. She had some moves that I don't think even I could have used on someone.

Richard: DANM! She got moves!

Joel: Yea, yea she does!

I couldn't help but stare at her. She was perfect.

I I know this chapter was a little long but I wanted to show his point of view and try to rap it up in one chapter. I won't be doing this all the time I just thought I should to Introduce the guys and what he thinks of Lizeth.🤣 I hope y'all enjoyed it.
