Chapter 27

Joel's POV

I woke up this morning to the sound of my alarm clock. It was Wednesday morning and every Wednesday morning Liz comes over with a box of donuts and some drinks. It's become like a tradition. My siblings seem to like it a lot more than I do. They love the free donuts! Last night was fun but it was even better when me and Liz ended up making out in the parking lot. I'd say it was the highlight of my night!

As a walked downstairs I saw Israel and Gabo sitting in the kitchen.

Joel: Good morning!!

Gabriel: Hey! Is Liz coming today? -He asked with way too much excitement in his voice.-

Joel: Yep, I think so! -I laughed-

A while passed and I think she is running late. A few seconds later we heard her come through the front door. My mom told her that she doesn't have to knock anymore. She wants her to feel as if she's at home and I love that about my mom. She always makes people feel welcomed. As soon as my brothers heard the front door open they ran to her taking the donuts out of her hands.

Israel: I'll take that! -He gives her a good boy smile. After that they ran into the kitchen.-

Joel: Hey! What do you say? -I yell at them-

Gabriel and Israel: THANK YOU! -They managed to say in between bites. Me and Liz just laughed.-

Lizeth: You're welcome!!

Joel: Good morning, my beautiful princes!

Lizeth: Buenos días, mi vida! -I lean in and kiss her soft lips.-

Joel: Let's go before we're late! -I said opening the front door for her.-

We then got into the car and drive off. We left in Zabdiel's car. I always catch a ride with them on Wednesday when Lizeth comes over with the donuts. It makes it easier. After we got there we met up with our friends as usual and then parted ways. The day went by faster than usual actually which got me by surprise.

I was heading to the library to study for a test I have next period. I feel like I know it all but it doesn't hurt to go through it one more time. I have a free period right now so that's more than enough time to go through everything. I headed to the empty table at the back of the library. I usually study here when I can. It's quite since not a lot of many people come back here and it helps me focus. A few minutes late I heard someone coming this way then I heard a book drop. To be honest it kind of freaked me out.

Joel: Hey, is anyone there?- I asked. No one answered.- Hello!- I asked once again.-

Rebecca: Hey! Sorry if I scared you! The book just slipped out of my hand.

Joel: Oh... ummm no yea, it's ok!

Rebecca: So, what are you doing back here? -She was heading towards the table-

Joel: I'm just studying for a test I have next period.

Rebecca: Oh that's nice. -this time she sat on the table.- Ummm maybe I can help. I'm in your class next period. I stayed up late studying and I think I know everything.

Joel: No, it's ok! I think I got it!

Rebecca: No I insist. I even understand what the teacher was asking about yesterday. Maybe I can explain you if you didn't understand.

I honestly had no clue what he was talking about yesterday, plus it's just a few problems I'm stuck on. Maybe she can help.

Joel: Umm yea sure! That would be great! -I admitted-

Rebecca: Great! -She got off of the table and sat in the chair next to me.-

After 15 minutes I actually understood everything. Major relief ran through my body.

Joel: I understand it. Oh wow! Thank you so much! -I exclaimed-

Rebecca: Hey, it was no problem! Hey, can I ask you a personal question? -She asked-

Joel: Yea, I guess!

Rebecca: Why are you with Lizeth? I mean do you even really know her?

Joel: Yea I do and I'm with her because she is one of the most beautiful, strong and amazing women I've ever met! It feels so surreal that she is even with me! I feel so lucky to call her my girlfriend. -I tell her with a huge smile on my face. -

Rebecca: Clearly you don't know about her past and how she actually is!

Joel: Yea I do!

Rebecca: You know... you deserve better. Someone who actually will value you and see you for the handsome and smart guy you are. She doesn't deserve you!

Joel: It's actually the other way around. I don't deserve her. Just by curiosity... what makes you think she doesn't. -I knew the answer to that but I was just playing along to her game. I just knew that maybe I was falling into a trap.-

Rebecca: I think you should ask her. -She was now only inches away from my face.- Then come and talk to me or maybe we don't even have to talk.-

Before I could pull away she sucked me in and placed her lips on mine. I was now paralyzed while her lips where touching mine and my eyes were wide open.
