"Please let me help you." Ethan begged as I walked away from him and kept walking down the deserted road where my home is.
"Fuck off, Ethan. I never needed anyone and I'm definitely not going to start now." I said and walked a little faster now.
"Your going through so much shit right now! I know you were always alone but I understand what your going through!" Ethan yelled getting my attention and making me stop in my tracks.
I turned to him with a face of disbelief "are you kidding? You have your brother, you have a big ass house, people who love you, all the money in the world, a sister, a mom, and a dad."
After he said nothing but eventually said "don't you ever feel like... happy?"
What kind of damn question?
"I think the real question is... will I ever be happy?" I said and continued walking away.
I heard Ethan following close behind me.
"What's wrong with you?!" Ethan suddenly got in front of me and yelled.
"You know my greatest weakness, Ethan?"
He shook his head.
"Occasionally I give a damn, now move." I said but he pushed me back.
"No y/n! This whole time I've been wondering how you feel—" I cut him off.
"Well not everyone gets to blurt our how they fuckin feel every minute!"
"Just tell me. Why are you like this? So strong, so fearless, so careful?" Ethan said lowly.
"I'm strong because I've been weak. I'm fearless because I've been scared. I'm careful because I've made mistakes." I said to him while looking at his dark eyes.
He said nothing
"you know my whole life people laughed at me because I was different, I laughed at them because they were all the same." I continued.
I finally pushed past him "cant rely on anyone these days. Gotta do everything yourself. Funny world we live in, huh?" I yelled back to him.
I finally got to my house. Ethan was still following behind me, but stayed silent the whole time.
"You know I was born an original sinner?" I said.
Ethan looked up at me.
"All the shit I did drove people away. Up to that point I just figured they got tired of my madness. It's what made me smile."
"I always had really fantastic bad ideas." I finished.
"Please just let me take care of you." Ethan stated.
"I just can't let you. Because my time is out." I sighed.
"What do you mean?" Ethan cried and started to get close to my face.
"Because I took care of you. There's a reason I was with you, your whole life. It was to protect you." I said.
"Just please let me take care of you for once." Ethan cried and touched his forehead with mine.
