Chapter forty eight

'Breathe just breathe y/n you'll be fine'

I was on the ground in Ariana's house gasping for air. It felt like my lungs were closing in on me, it was as if I forgot how to breathe and in front of me was a very panicked Ariana repeating the same sentence over and over again

My vision started to become very blurry and my head started to weigh as much as an anchor for a boat

'Y/n come on look at me' Ariana said picking my head back up. I felt my eyes starting to close until I got the pain of Ariana slapping my right cheek again and again 'stay with me y/n/n you're alright you're gonna be just fine okay you're gonna be fine'

Those were the last words I heard from her until I finally blacked out.

I slowly started to open my eyes just to shut them back close again

I waited another minute to try again and this time I fully opened my eyes squinting due to the ray of sunlight that was shining through the curtains and onto my face

I was laying in Ariana's bedroom but with no Ariana beside me. I was confused because the last thing I remember was being on the ground unable to breathe downstairs

I laid still for a moment to check if I could hear anyone else in the house but I didn't hear anything until Ariana's bedroom door burst open to reveal Ariana. From the sight of her I could tell that she had gotten no sleep whatsoever, she had bags under her eyes and her eyes were droopy

When she saw that I was awake her eyes opened fully and she rushed to come beside me on the bed bringing my head into her embrace 'oh my god thank god you're awake I was so worried' she said squeezing my head tighter

I hadn't said a thing since she came into the room and I knew she noticed when she pulled away from me a little bit to get a good look at my face 'are you feeling better'

I looked at her and felt tears welling up in my eyes and shook my head 'no' and pushed my head back into her crying. She rubbed my head letting my sobbing be the only noise filling the silence between us

'Are you going to tell me what happened now' Ariana said when the credits of the film started to show on the screen. I still didn't say a word yet to her I don't even know why I just didn't want to talk and I could tell that she was starting to get frustrated

I just looked at her in the eyes indicating to her that I didn't want to talk yet, she sighed and said 'y/n you're gonna have to tell me do you even know how scared I was last night I literally thought you were going to fucking die and you're not even going to tell me what happened' she was now angry at me and I understood that she had every right to be, she also had every right to know exactly what happened last night as well

'I just don't want you to leave me' I said breaking the silence that settled between us. She grabbed my hand holding so tight that it felt like she was cutting off my bloodstream 'I would never leave you no matter what and I will never think any different of you y/n I love you and nothing can change that' she looked at me directly in the eyes to show me that she meant everything that she was saying

I sat there taking her words in 'it's just...it's just I-I was so scared Ariana I was just so scared' I said with tears falling rapidly from my eyes

'You're safe with me now y/n I won't let anything bad happen to you again I promise' she said holding me close to her.
